Lindsay J Smith Photography offers quality, customized photos. I have always loved taking photos. Instead, in college I followed another passion. Teaching.

I remember many, many times as a kid posing my dolls, my pets, my friends. (And oh, how entertaining they are to look back on!) I never thought I'd actually consider it as something I would do as an adult. I taught for a few years before the birth of our first daughter, Ella. I became a stay at home mom and two years later our second daughter, Claire, arrived. We had done the typical Sears studio

sessions and just before Claire's six month photos we realized how redundant a chain studio is. I didn't feel they really captured my girls in all their sweetness and silliness. My husband, Jeremy, decided to purchase a DSLR and my journey really began. I began taking photos of the girls and soon it expanded to family and close friends. I will be forever thankful to those who took interest in my photography early on, for they are the reason I really pursued this wonderful world of photography. Now after three years of exploring and learning (which is really never ending), I have expanded again and have begun photography as a true side job. I believe being a mom and my experience as a teacher has really helped me connect and work with children and families. Someday I hope to have a studio, but for now I rely on the beautiful outdoor settings that Wisconsin has to offer and my dining room as a temporary natural light studio. I am constantly looking for new props and new ideas and work to customize your session to what you want. It's all in the details! Please feel free to ask any questions and thank you for visiting! I've known Mason since he was a newborn and have watched him and his sister grow up alongside my own girls. I am so thankful to have him and his family in our lives. Have the best senior year, Mason!

This page has been pretty quiet over the past year. Partly because some of my clients prefer private galleries, mostly because I've placed more focus on other areas of my life and less on my photography. However, I've been enjoying this bittersweet summer as my own daughter and her friends have reached their senior year and I have the honor of capturing this milestone for some of them.

Last night was hot and humid, but Daysia handled it beautifully. Enjoy her sneak peek and stay tuned for more!

These two cuties belong to my cousin, Yvonne, and her husband, Cody. This year we did their session on the family farm. Grandpa's cows and tractors were way more interesting than the cousin with the camera. It was also wet and cold, so who can really blame them for preferring to be in mom & dad's arms with blankets and snacks. But after a few bribes of chocolate (for Aurora) and a side by side ride (for Barrett), we got some cute shots!

Last night was a perfect night for Kaylee's senior session. We had to do a last minute pivot because one of the locations was not accessible but Kaylee (and her crew) rolled with it and I am so excited to share more from her session.

Three 2 year olds this weekend! The trickiest age to photograph (in my opinion) but pretty darn adorable- worth the patience and energy level required!

Ryver was my first cutie of the weekend. She was super polite, even if she wasn't loving the camera

Hello everyone! I've been pretty quiet with my photography this past year as I gave more of my attention to teaching and reassessed my work/home balance. I will continue to focus on sessions for children age 6 months to highschool seniors and weekend sessions will continue to be very limited. I've had multiple families ask if I will reopen the schedule for family sessions. I've decided to open a very limited number of family sessions for the summer only.
