COURTESY POST: WE do not have this cat. UPDATED INFO ADDED!

Owner passed and family cannot keep as they already have 6 cats.

Kristofferson is approximately 8 year old male- neutered. Absolute love bug! Only been around kids 8 and up, so no idea about little ones, only has seen dogs in passing-so no info there. Lived with another cat-no issues. Definate attention seeker. Mostly indoor cat,but likes to go out once and awhile and roll around until picked up. Great mouser!

Please share so we can get this guy a good home.

If interested, we put you in contact with family.

Do you know WHY that cat is bullying and attacking other cats?
Because he is an unfixed male, and those hormones affect his behavior.
Unfixed males will mark territory, fight with other cats spreading disease, and venture into other territories for mating, which causes chaos along the way. That chaos will 100% cause injuries in male cats.
An unfixed male cat's chance of testicular cancer is high!
That unfixed, free roaming male cat is responsible for all the kittens born each year!
Remember to fix ALL THE CATS!

Why should I fix my cat??
February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month and here is one reason you should fix your cat....
PREEDA was trapped 2 weeks ago. No one is looking for her and a lost pet site was checked. No posters have been seen. And no one has posted about her.
PREEDA was doing fine until last weeked. She was scheduled to be spayed this past Monday but was not eating and had developed a fever. She was taken to the vet where an ultrasound determined she was pregnant. Over the next couple days all 4 kittens died in utero. This caused a toxic pregnancy and PREEDA received an emergency spay.
Had PREEDA not been trapped, she would have died alone and outside.
There are hundreds, if not thousands, like PREEDA, alone, outside and unfixed.
PREEDA is on the road to healing now but it's going to take awhile. When she is ready, we will be looking for a good home for her.
IF YOUR CAT IS NOT FIXED, DO SO NOW. Males also need to be fixed. They can fight and infect other cats with FIV and FELV.
NO EXCUSES.....there are low cost clinics available throughout the United States.......

What’s the most frustrating thing I read on the internet in regards to animal welfare?

‼️ Somebody please do something ‼️

I am well-aware that those comments and ones similar to them come from well-intentioned, good-hearted animal lovers just like you and me. I TRY to remind myself, but those comments are one of my biggest pet peeves. Why? Because when I see those comments, I see someone telling others what to do while admitting they are not willing or able to do it themselves.

Animal advocates are typically volunteers. They have jobs. They have families. They have laundry. They have a life. Their spaces fill. The demands on their time are overwhelming while caring for sick and homeless animals they already have. Shelters and rescues are in the same boat. Just because they are “an organization” doesn’t mean they have unlimited space, time or money. They cannot show up and say yes every time. It’s not possible.

When someone posts about a stray animal who showed up and they are looking for an owner or help or guidance, stating that they can’t take the animal in. People comment:
“It’s so cold, please take the baby inside!”
“Please don’t leave that cat outside! It’s dangerous!!”
“Can’t you just put it in the bathroom for tonight?”

No one offers help, only criticism of the person who is not doing what they think she should be doing.

How about??
“It’s so cold, I would be happy to pick up this baby so it can be inside.”
“I’m happy to come pick up the cat so it will be safe.”
“I have a spare bathroom I can house the cat in for tonight.”

If you yourself are unable to help because of circumstances, why do you assume someone else is willing and able to do what you are not?

If your only advice is for “somebody” to please do something, just refrain from commenting. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Rant over.

For sure.......

CORRECT!!!!!

Thousands of unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and stray animals pour into animal shelters across the country every day—far outnumbering the good homes available to take them in. But instead of “going upstream,” i.e., instead of working to address the source of the problem, which is the runaway animal birth rate, people are being pressured into focusing on the symptoms. We can end the cycle of animal births, homelessness, and deaths, but we must address the root cause instead of flailing in the water, pulling out one kitten at a time while so many others float by, and screaming that others in the water with us aren’t saving enough kittens.

Female cats are “seasonally polyestrous”, meaning they have multiple estrus cycles during the breeding season. As the amount of daylight begins to increase at the winter solstice, the reproductive cycle of intact females kicks into gear, and most will go into heat by late January. A female cat will keep coming back into heat every 1 to 2 weeks until she gets pregnant, or the amount of daylight decreases (October). The feline gestation period is 63 days (give or take), so the first kittens of the season can start arriving as early as February.

NOW is the ideal time time to neuter community cats to get ahead of kitten season and end the breeding cycle before it starts.
