As we are approaching the hottest days of the year please make sure to keep your four-legged companion safe. Owners of brachycephalic breeds should be especially vigilant as those breeds especially don’t do well in heat. Let’s all have a great and safe summer 🏝☀️ heatstrokeindogs

Please be aware of those red flags!

A good dog trainer is a professional with whom you should feel comfortable and safe. Here are the signs you should be aware of before you hire one.

Please, Please, Please don’t spay or neuter before your dog reaches maturity and finishes growing ! This is very important and if anyone tries to encourage you otherwise they
A- don’t have a basic veterinary and anatomical knowledge of canines
B - they don’t care about the well being of your pet but rather financial gain.

Do your research, do what’s best for your dog!

02/02/2022

Often, the spay and neuter take place at a very young age for pets. However, studies have shown that this may not be the best age.

Beware that up to 80 percent of websites advertising dogs for sale online are actually nothing more than puppy scams. Here's how to spot them.

I can truly say I’m very proud that I did this all by myself. I learned so much, I got so many ideas, tips, improvements and most importantly I got so much more knowledge on how to run my business safely and with the pets and their needs in mind.

I’m so thankful that I have such wonderful clients who all supported me and bared with me through this week that I couldn’t be there and help but I promise your pups will now be in much better hands ! 😊

First day of the conference went smoothly. Just finished a five hour CPR and first aid course. I refreshed my memory and knowledge since I finished school 10 years ago 😅

I’m still going to attend a meet and greet at 8 PM. I will get to meet a lot of pet care professionals who actually speak my language and go through the same things I go through every day so I hope to make some long lasting connections and friendships. Attending this conference was definitely the best decision I made for my career and my pet clients 🥰 So much more to learn in the upcoming days !

Our dogs may be a member of the family, but acting like they're four-legged people can be a recipe for bad canine behavior. Stop making these five mistakes.

I’m not just a dog walker,
I’m not just a pet sitter,
I don’t just go for a house visit to feed a cat,
I don’t just “work with doggies all day”
I wake up at crack of dawn,
I don’t get to call out because I’m sick, dogs need to eat, go out rain, snow, wind, cold or hot.
When you leave your pet with me he becomes my responsibility, his LIFE is in my hands. They can’t tell me what’s wrong, what hurts or what bothers them, I have to figure it out and that’s where my knowledge comes to play.
I’m responsible for its safety, nourishment and comfort.
I work 24/7.
I’ve been bitten, scratched, hissed on, peed on, I had to clean throw up, blood, p**p, the whole 9 yards …
I have to administer IVs as well as life saving and sustaining medication, I grieved many, many pets together with their owners, I sometimes struggled to get up and go

BUT…
It’s not the money that’s rewarding, I’ve helped many owners by taking their pets in and just saying “you will pay me when you can” or “whatever you can afford” because I know that pet is safe with me.

The real reward is the wagging tails, the purrs, the excitement when i come , the bond we create, the little achievements, the cuddles and the unconditional friendship.

I do what I do out of true calling and passion. I tried other things but From the moment I can recall I always wanted to be a vet, that was my dream, to help animals. I got an even better gig ! I get to be a part of pets lives, I AM THE DOGWALKER, THE PETSITTER, I am your pets security when you are away or at work. I create a routine, I nurture the DOG or CAT in them and I provide what they need while their owners can’t.

I wouldn’t change what I do for the world because even at my darkest times, I walk into my clients home and I see the happiest, most genuine welcome there is and my worries are completely put aside.

If you do something only for financial gain, you will always loose. Do what you love and you will always win.

To all the pet owners, please keep your pets cool in this weather. Here are signs of a heat stroke and breeds most at risk but don’t forget about the elderly dogs. Keep walks to minimum, provide a cool place and fresh water!

Reputable breeding is about protecting and honoring a breed; it is not about making money.

1 – A reputable breeder conducts healths screenings on the dogs before breeding to avoid passing down a health issue.

2 – A reputable breeder has one litter at a time, not multiple litters or back-to-back litters. This is something they do for the love of the breed; not to get rich.

3 – A reputable breeder doesn't breed puppies (dogs less than 12 months of age); instead, they wait until a dog is mature before breeding.

4 – A reputable breeder will invite you to meet the parents of the puppies, invite you to see their property, and interact with the dogs. If the father isn't around, you'll be able to speak to the sire's owner, see pictures and video, and, if local, visit the sire as well.

5 – A reputable breeder raises their puppies inside which provides socialization opportunities from birth.

6 – A reputable breeder will help you choose the right puppy for you, your family, and your lifestyle. Many will give you a questionnaire that delves deeply into your wish list for a dog, your lifestyle, and more.

7 – A reputable breeder keeps their puppies until they are at least 8 weeks of age. Separating a puppy from its mother before then can result in behavioral issues (fear and aggression) down the line because the puppy is missing out on key lessons provided by the mother.

8 – A reputable breeder will take a puppy (or dog) back. They don't want to see their pups in shelters.

9 – A reputable breeder often has a waiting list. Because they're not breeding all the time and they choose the right puppy for you, you may have to wait for your dream dog to be born.

10 – A reputable breeder isn't afraid to answer your questions. I've spent hours on the phone with breeders simply to gain more information on the breed to better understand my rescue dogs. I wasn't charged for their time and they invited me to call back any time. They want well-educated pet owners and will, therefore, offer guidance to potential or new pet owners.

11 – A reputable breeder specializes in one or two breeds. This allows them to become experts and they'll be able to answer all of your questions and help you make the decision if a breed is right for you and your lifestyle

Way to exploit people and their dogs…. Dogs don’t need a “country clubs” this is MADE BY PEOPLE TO MILK PEOPLE.
You can have a trusted Walker take your dog for a walk and play with them in a yard for $25-$35 bucks, you can sign up for agility or handling classes, you can ask a friend that has a dog to coordinate a play date. Dogs are not dollar signs and that’s what those places see them as, $2,500 fee so my dog can play with other dogs ?? As someone said to me you need to have more money than brains if you fall for that 😂

Home visits are the best way to have your pup in the comfort of their own home but still attended too, walked and taken to park for walks and hikes. Price starts at $40 per visit, I take ALL cases and any special requests, elderly pets, exotic pets, pets who need medication or any other type of medical attention.

Perfecting and working on walking multiple dogs without being dragged and tangled. One of the dogs is not used to a leash because she is let out in the yard and didn’t want to move at first and fought the leash so I think I made progress 😅
