When you’re old as dirt but still young at heart ❤️
~ Dudley
HOSPICE FOSTER NEEDED ‼️
As promised, we have another hospice request. Dudley is a super sweet old man that needs out of the shelter asap. He is cat friendly and his tail just wags anytime he’s around other dogs. He can’t keep up with them, but he enjoys trying. Dudley has some difficulty ambulating but with patience and TLC, he’d do well in just about any home. We are considering him as a hospice situation given the shelter vet’s recommendation. Let’s help this old man get comfortable in a home where he belongs ❤️ Foster needs to be in Indianapolis or surrounding county. The rescue covers all medical needs for the duration of the foster period. (2nd video in comments)
In the midst of all of the excitement at yesterday’s event, there was also some major sadness. It wouldn’t be the world of rescue if it wasn’t a roller coaster. We had to say goodbye to little BooBoo as he really began to struggle with breathing 💔 Boo had seen multiple vets and had many tests done and multiple attempts to help him breathe better, but nothing was working 😞 Yesterday morning it was clear that the most humane and kind thing we could do was to let him go, as difficult as that decision always is.
I wanted to share a happy video to honor little Boo as it shows why we do what we do. When Boo first joined, he was scared and took so long to warm up, first to me then to his foster mom. The day he decided to pick up a toy and trot around, I think both of us screamed with joy ❤️ What a cute and happy little boy he was. His old man dad, Bear, is still with us and grieving the loss right along with his foster mom. Again I say, no one said this would be easy, but it’s definitely worth it. RIH sweet boy 🌈
THANK YOU! To everyone who supported us today 🩷
Update: we have a foster lined up for all 3! This is a trial basis as we completely understand what it means to add 3 dogs to any home. Fingers crossed this works our for all involved ❤️🤞
The 3 chihuahuas are SAFE! We also learned more info and are desperately going to make one plea in hopes of keeping them all together. This is a dad (Bear Bear age 23), son (Boo Boo age 17), and daughter (Coco age 16). They are bonded and while we’re happy just to keep them safe and alive, they will do much better if they stay together.
We had MANY comments on our urgent post yesterday for these pups that said “please keep them together” but none of those people saying that actually applied to help us do so. We have so many generous offers to take one of them, which we will most certainly do if we need to.
Coco is very scared as she was the most attached to her owner that passed away. I’ve had them for 20 minutes and have witnessed Boo Boo comfort his sister multiple times.
While it’s very easy to say these dogs “need to stay together,” it’s not so easy to be the one actually taking them all in to ensure that happens. We will cover medical costs! Please let us know if you’d be interested in adding this little trio and helping us help them ❤️ Otherwise, we will continue with the plan to separate them into individual homes. We do need foster to be able to get them to our vet in Indianapolis for appointments.

UPDATE: Goal met! She will be joining us soon!
$5 FRIDAY 🎉🎉
For this $5 Friday, we are focusing on a pup in dire need of our help. This girl is in rough shape! We have a foster willing to take her in, but given the amount of costly surgeries our current dogs are having, we cannot commit unless we raise funds to help her. We have SO many already with bad skin issues, so we are well versed in the vet costs for these particular pups. Our goal is to raise at least $400 to feel comfortable committing to this sweet girl. That will likely cover a couple of her initial appointments.
Please help if you can!

Riley wanted to show how NOT decrepit he really is 🥰
His sister, Mya, was napping 😴
Merchhhhh ✨✨✨ senior dog rescue version!
Just wanted to show everyone what a sweet boy our newbie is ❤️ I’m sure some don’t understand why in the world I’d take on a decrepit old dog that can barely walk and that I know I’ll end up spending way too much money on for him to just pass away soon.
Just watch his face in this video and see the appreciation behind his eyes. That’s why ❤️
Side note…I know I look exhausted. That’s because I AM 😆 that’s just the side effect of rescue. I also just stood in the rain for 30 minutes trying to get him out of my car 😬
Also, we named him Chester 🥰
