“Do you have a Merle available?” “Hi, I’m looking for a Merle.” “Sorry, it’s not the dog we’re after; we were hoping for a Merle.”

As breeders, we constantly hear this. You think it’s just now and then, but it’s 99% of daily inquiries.

Red or blue Merle’s make up less than 25% of the genetic pool of Australian Shepherds but seem to be the only thing people care about.

When did we as a society stop caring about what makes a good dog a good dog and only care about the color coat they happen to win in the genetic lottery?

Yet everyone focuses on color and encourages unethical breeders to continue to practice. Sometimes, these breeders do unethical pairings, not caring about their dogs or the pups and setting them up for failure.

Instead of asking about the breeding practices, how the puppies are raised and socialized, find out what the breeder does to go above and beyond and if they’re a genuine caring breeder who does all this for love and not money, wanting the best for their dogs so they get homes forever, are a great companion and have the best start possible… focus only on color. Please don’t keep encouraging these less-than-adequate breeders to keep going. The ones that exploit dogs for money, breeding unhealthy dogs that will break your bank and your heart, the ones that have aggression or place the wrong dogs in the wrong homes, whose dogs look nothing like what an Australian Shepherd should, who will charge you more for a Merle because that’s what you’re all clamoring for.

I’ve decided I really do not need to keep one of these sweet boys as much as I love every one of them for different reasons!! I only have so much space and I have both sisters close to home. I have reduced their price, I need them to find their forever homes! They are good boys. UTD on wormer/vaccines, health tested parents, working on basics, etc. I will be going to several shows the next couple of months. Will be making a trip to MO-GA-Tx in April. They could tag along, no extra charge!

Tux- Show/breed or Pet home. More laid back of the three. Expected to be about 18”.

Solo- My pick from the litter at 8 weeks. Would love to see him in a show home. But he can go to a pet home too. He should be somewhere around 17”. Super friendly and cuddly. Originally wanted a co-own for him but he could go outright.

Midnight- would excel in a performance or maybe a junior home. He is so smart and really wants to please me. He’s already mastered sit, down, stand, free stacks, “paws up”, good on the leash, working on stay this week. Excellent little boy. I think he’ll be closer to 16.5-17”

These two beautiful boys are looking for their forever homes! Pet homes only! They have been dewormed, first round of vaccines, and have microchips.

Tux is a laid back little dude. Very playful but would do well in any kind of home with how chill he is. Very confident and is a thinker. Should mature about 18”

Midnight would excel in a performance home! Super smart and wants to please. He has the most energy and personality in the litter. He’s the smallest in the litter but expect him to be about 17”

Parents are health tested and clear for everything including NAD/CDDY. And have OFA’s done. PM for more info!

The baby party animals gave me a run for my money with these pics but they turned out pretty cute! Two of the btm’s will be looking for homes in a couple weeks! Decisions will be made at 8 weeks which one I’m keeping 🫣 I know I said I wasn’t going to keep a male but ugh they’re tugging at my heart strings

Putting some feelers out there! I’m going to be getting Chomper (from the land before time, Steel x Holly litter) back after the first of the year or can possibly get him sooner…He’ll be looking for his forever home for the holidays! Chomper is great with other dogs, kids, crate trained, potty trained. Only reason he’s coming back is he got too tall to be a show dog. He will be a year old December 15th, will be UTD on everything, parents are fully health tested, etc. If interested feel free to PM me! Serious inquires only, he’s very reasonably priced
