Pupdate on Andy: the bleeding tumor on his ear came off in 1 visit but he's got an ear infection starting in that ear from the blood and had to have a new huge tumor by his back leg biopsied because the vet is concerned about it. He's been sleeping peacefully all night & all day except for when his kitten decided to trip me and I fell and got stuck on the floor, he came and laid right next to me till I could sit up then went right back to his nice warm soft bed while mom was stuck on the cold floor until sissy came home from work🤣🤣 I love this boy so much, he's my hero dog, my heart puppy🩵💙

💙🩵Poor Bubbaz has a bleeding tumor on his ear. He's had it for about 2 years but recently it started to bleed constantly. He has his 1st cryo appt tmrw to get it frozen off. Our amazing vet said it should only take 2 visits. Fingers crossed it works out. He doesn't want to put Andy under anesthesia due to him being 11 (geriatric) & his COPD from his allergies. We'd really appreciate some good vibes sent his way. 🩵💙

Today is my 11th birthday. We weren't sure I was going to make it this far but Momma & our Amazing vet never gave up. I'm still healing from my torn ccls but everyday I'm spoiled with love & lots of healthy treats. Momma has slowly been taking me walking to get my back legs strong again. I've lost a lot of muscle back there so I look a little funny. My back end is a lot skinnier than my front now but Momma says I'm getting stronger. I even get up to say hi to sissy everyday after work.

Sissy ended up holding my monster cookie so I could eat it

It's ok to laugh at the mail on the floor because we did. My kitten knocked it down. She's a terror 🤣

Sorry for the lack of updates we've had a lot going on in the household.
Andy went to the vet last week for yet another ear infection but it's been awhile since he's had one so we're OK with that. He lost 2 pounds since his last visit at the end of June.
The vet also recommended we freeze off the bleeding tumor on his ear he's had for years because it's been bleeding like crazy and the scabbing makes it look even larger than it is. He'll need at least 2 if not more visits for this. He recommended this instead of surgery due to his age,COPD and it's a lot more affordable.
We set up my new bed and had to move his yesterday and he's not a fan but he'll only be staying where he's at for 2 more nights gotta let the mattress puff up to full size.

His kitties have been sleeping and cuddling him to help him feel better. I'm hoping with more room to move he'll try the ramp to get on and off my bed but we'll see. He hasn't been a fan so I put it back in the box.

Even in the amount of pain he's in he still alerts to my blood sugar changes even when I tell him he's retired and doesn't have to work anymore

This boy is my soul puppy, my heart dog, my hero🩵 he's saved my life more times than I can count. He's spoiled daily with tons of love,treats and of course his fruits & veggies

I'm trying to post more often but between both of our healths declining and the constant alarms for his meds or mine and all the commotion going on inside our place i just haven't had the time or energy.

Thank you all for loving him the way you do. He's been depressed not seeing people everyday so if anyone wants to come see him let me know. He'd definitely love some visitors💙🩵

Update on Andy...he's feeling a little better his back legs are still really week but 4x a day meds have made him much more comfy. It's all worth it trying to grab naps in between meds. He's walked to our mailbox twice but I didn't give him enough time between trips only a night so he was shaking before we got to the mailbox on day 2.
He's upset with me tonight because I switched his blankets on his bed to wash the ones on there. Will update soon...

Poor Andy I took him out to potty today and he fell over while trying to squat. Poor baby yelped then just wanted to come in and lay down. I grabbed him a few cans of food when I grabbed his meds today just to see if a scoop of canned food mixed into his regular food will help and it did.

MY BOY FINALLY ATE!!!!! I ordered an appetite stimulant to put on his food but the can food is working at least for now. I hope the powder works because at $6 a can I can't afford to keep buying it. Hoping someone helps me measure him for his brace because he refuses to stand for me to do it alone but will get excited and stand up for company

Andy had a visit from one of his favorite people the other day and seeing him smile and so happy brought tears to my eyes. Dan even brought him a frosted cookie. He's such a spoiled boy🩵💙 Then one of his furbabies curled up to cuddle with him.
He's getting one of his pain meds 3x a day so I wake up every morning at 1:30 to give them to him and he seems to be more comfortable.
Ordering his ortho brace as soon as he let's me get his measurements it's been he'll trying to do that, he just won't cooperate with me. But his ice/warm compress brace came in. He let's me use the compress but refuses to let me put the brace on. He's a strong boy and has a lot of fight in him. Hoping to get it on soon.

He's walking a little better barely putting weight on it, yet tonight he scared me. He jumped on my bed but ended up landing on my legs which made him yelp(and me too). He's now passed out cold on my bed as close as he can possible get to me without laying on me with the exception of my left shoulder. I have no idea how he's so comfy

Vet visit yesterday. Andy has a partially torn ccl in his left hind leg and will need to wear a brace. 3 different pain meds helped his pain from Tues night when he fell and hurt himself until his appt yesterday. Today his favorite groomer Koralee cane over to cut his hair and he's already feeling more comfortable. His panting stopped once her lost all that fur. Now hes just relaxing on his bed

Here's the estimate for Andy after his last urine test. He has both protein and crystals in his urine😭😭 Hoping to get some info on places that can help out a little with this. They want to test for Cushings again due to his lab results. I love my sweet boy so much and it breaks my heart that my financial insecurity due to only my SSDI keeps me from doing whatever I have to do for him without help. I love my baby boy so damn much I just need to know what I can do to help him

Just wanted to update everyone on how Andy is doing. His gabapentin and carprofen are helping him. The gabapentin keeps him sleeping alot which he really needs because before the meds he was getting up and moving every 10-15 mins or so some nights more often than that. I'll take a sleepy boy over a pain filled boy any day. We increased his food intake to 1 cup in the am and 1 cup in the pm instead of 1.5 cups at night which has helped him from getting sick from his pain meds. He was even able to take a walk around the parking lot with me yesterday. It took us 1/2 an hour to walk 3 laps around our parking lot which is tiny but I'll take it. He just wanted to be outside in the fresh air which made me happy. I'll do anything I can for my sweet, sweet boy. We've cut back on his regular treats and started giving him fruit and veggies instead for his alerts. He weighed in at 105.5 lbs at the vets and can't exercise due to the pain so had to do something else to try to help him so lettuce, carrots, green beans, blueberries and strawberries are his new treats. I also picked up sweet potatoes today to slice and dehydrate for him along with his strawberries so I'll be doing that tmrw for him
