This case is super close to us (an hour away) for protection against RHDV2 we have made the very hard decision to close our doors until further notice. We can not accept anymore rabbits at this time and risk exposing the virus to our own rabbits and the rescues. We will not be allowing any visitors at this time. Please understand this is fully for the safety of the rabbits in our care. For adoptions we are meeting away from our property. Videos and photos can be provided if you’re interested in adopting.

“Gertrude” and “Abbie” had their grooming and health assessment done today! So far both are sweeties and a lot less stressed today! It’s Too soon to include the behavior assessment but I’ll keep everyone updated. Both are a bit underweight. They have ear mites and a bit of urine scald. But other than that they’re healthy 🙌 I have started treating the ear mites and urine scald today. They will be provided with unlimited complete pellets and Timothy hay to get some weight back on them. With this bit of help these two ladies are well on their way to being ADOPTABLE!! 🥰

Just picked up these two mini lop. They were dumped in the city of Albemarle after who knows how long of roaming the streets, dodging predators and traffic. And scrounging for whatever food they could find. they’re now safe until someone can adopt them 🥰🐰 we’ve named them “Abbie” and “Gertrude” thank you Lorrie for telling me about these babies and allowing me to continue their rescue mission here at Hop To The Rescue! once they have their health and behavior evaluation I’ll post a bio for each. If anyone is interested in adopting these babies as your new pet please message me!

We are full on rabbit intakes at the moment due to cage space. If you’d like to donate a cage please message me. We use 30X36 Dumor cages but smaller would do as well as our foster rabbits get free roam exercise twice a day (morning and night) inside the barn. If you’d like to donate a cage please let me know. There are 4 rabbits that need us to take them in But unfortunately we can’t do anything further without the cages. This is the hardest part of being non profit. We rely completely on donations and if we don’t have the funds we are limited to how many rabbits we can take in.

This handsome guy is Oakley! Oakley came to us from his owner for emergency placement. Oakley has passed his health evaluation and id now ready to be adopted out! He will be leaving for PET PURPOSES ONLY he will NOT go to a breeding program. Here’s a little about him.

Hi! I’m Oakley!
I’m a super sweet and curious Holland lop guy! I love to play chase with the kids here at ODA Rabbitry and I love getting cuddles from them while we watch cartoons! I’m litter box trained but I still have some accidents. Probably because I’m still getting use to change. I love these tiny hay bales the humans provide for me and I eat Show Hutch complete pellets! The humans say they’ll provide a bag of transitioning feed if you’d like to try another complete pellet for me! I enjoy my cheerio treats and I’ll eat them right from your hand! I like playing with other rabbits here but tend to pick fights so I’ll need my own living space with no other rabbits. I enjoy the dog here. He’s calm and laid back with me but I do get scared when he gets hyper. I’m hoping this bio of me will find me my new forever home! Please message these humans if you’d like to adopt me!!

How do u relax? Grab someBUNNY and listen to the birds and the breeze 🥰🐰

This is Bertha! She’s a standard rex girl that’s super sweet and loves treats! Bertha would make a great companion for someone that doesn’t have kids as she is like a lot of rabbits and doesn’t like being carried around but will hop in your lap for cuddles all day! She passed her first health evaluation today and got her grooming done. Once she is out of quarantine she’ll be ADOPTABLE 🥰🐰💜🐾

Coco came to us with sore hocks and healed beautifully with treatment. She is the sweetest Dutch (mix?) girl and would make the perfect companion. She’s litter box trained and loves cuddles and cheerio treats. She plays like a puppy or will snuggle with u on the couch. She deserves her second chance at being a pet! 🥰🐰 if you would like to meet and adopt coco please message me 🥰🐰

Hoppy Friday y’all! 🥰 Rabbit pick up will be on Wednesdays if you’re surrendering a rabbit please message me to arrange pick up. If it’s an emergency situation let me know so we can arrange pick up right away. Rabbit adoption will be on Saturdays and Sundays. So if you’re planning on adopting one of these cuties after their 30 day quarantine and health evaluation; we can schedule meetings for the weekends! This allows me to accommodate travel while I work my job as well until I can arrange volunteers. If you’d like to volunteer with us please message me as well so I can ask some questions and approve your volunteer application 🥰🐰

Thank you everyone for your kind words and support! I’ve done this for quite sometime and tho my page is new… I’m not new to rescue or rabbits. and what that means. I stand behind how I do things and have had great success with rehoming many homeless animals not just rabbits. I would love to take the cash donations offered but that’s not how we do things here. We sale baked goods, homemade items, yard sale, accept donated new rabbit essentials or accept gently used rabbit essentials that can be disinfected properly. The rehoming fees of the adoptable rabbits are the only cash donation we accept and that goes toward the exotic animal vet care. Please understand that this is not us being ungrateful of your gift but to assure everyone that our hearts are in the right place and not an attempt to make money.

I want to make a post to remind everyone rabbit bonding is a terrible idea. We took a road trip to grab two rabbits that needed emergency placing. these rabbits were put in a small cage with another rabbit. That rabbit brutally beat up on these two. These rabbits are severely wounded and very depressed. Attempting to bond two rabbits can be FATAL! their 30 day quarantine starts today. Hopefully theyll be adoptable and get a second chance at human love once they heal.

Proper education is EVERYTHING when it comes to rabbits. There’s so many myths about rabbit care and they could be FATAL please be sure your education is coming from a rabbit educator or ARBA and not the internet!

Hey y’all! I’m Jackie! An animal care specialist, and rabbit educator. The operator of “Hop To The Rescue” Follow our journey as we help many rabbits find their new loving homes while educating everyone on proper rabbit care! My family and I have worked to foster and rescue all sort of animals (rabbits included) all on our own time and dime since 2011. We quickly seen rabbits are one of the most disposed of pets in the USA. We have decided to dedicate our time on helping dumped, neglected, abused homeless rabbits. Our goal is to provide a safe place for rabbits to go if they need to be rehomed. Here they will receive a health evaluation, vet care and even training! Hop To The Rescue is somewhere to give them love and care until they can be adopted. Giving them a second chance at being loved by a human. So If you are looking for a new companion and want to adopt please consider one of these rabbits! Not ready to adopt? That’s ok too! U can still help greatly! We don’t accept cash donations but make the money for our rabbits by selling things at yard sales, bake sales, home made items, and accept gently used or new rabbit essentials donated. Help us out by picking an item to buy and send from our rescue rabbit Amazon wish list! You can view their wish list here https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/LHBYI841TISZ?ref_=wl_share your donations help greatly! THANK YOU! From the rescue rabbits and the people caring deeply for help them! -Hop To The Rescue
