Hoof or Paw, a Non-Profit Corporation Our goal is reduce the number of stray animals and promote responsible pet ownership in our community Need to contact us? Only call 9-1-1 for human emergencies.

We do NOT pick up animals, investigate cases of abuse or provide any sort of veterinary services. You will need to contact the funded Marion/Winston Animal Shelter (MWAS) at (205) 487-2581 as they are contracted and paid by Marion County and its' cities to handle stray pick ups. If there are any issues, comments, concerns or recommendations of the service you receive from MWAS, please county the M

arion County Commission at (205) 921-3172 as they handle the contract for MWAS. Our goal is to be able to take overflow from the county funded shelter, not to provide as the primary shelter because of physical space and financial constraints of being a donation and volunteer based facility/organization. email as at [email protected]

Bailey update:
Diagnosis: unilateral renal displaysia (one kidney didn’t fully develop)
Prognosis: good since right kidney is normal

liver looked normal, heart looked and good and worms have cleared. Should live a normal healthy life, will just need his kidney monitored when he goes in for regular check ups or if he becomes sick. Eating normally twice a day dry dog food. Continue feeding with a slow feeder bowl. He gained over 1 lb since last week. Needs good diet with no excess products for his good kidney to process . Have several interested in so not accepting anymore applications at this time.
