I almost forgot to post these adorable 2-day-old pictures of my roommate's 5-week-old Chihuahua puppy, who is both my pet sitting and my dog training client. His new name is now Midnight 😊🐢.

The cat in one of the pictures is my older kitten named Benson (his full name is Bobby Benson Hill Zeitler).

Benson gets along with Midnight for the most part, but ofc, they both still have to be closely supervised when they're together.

This is my new long-term puppy client: My roommate's currently unnamed 5-week-old male Chihuahua puppy! 😊 He will be both my pet sitting client and my dog training client as well. And the best part about it is that my older rescue kitten, Benson adores this pup! 😺🐢

Pictured here is my 6 - 7-month-old kitten named Benson. He used to be a stray kitty. My roommate's sister gave him to me because she was unable to keep him due to her already having a Pit Bull.

I am gaining more and more kitty experience every day just by taking good care of him. Benson will never, ever have to worry about becoming a stray again 😺.

I am seriously thinking about task training him just like you would do to a service animal. I used to have a trained psychiatric service dog, but now I am unable to afford caring for another dog. In the mean time, I'm hoping that Benson can help me out a little until I can get and train an actual service dog.

Unfortunately, service cats are not a legally recognized thing in Gulfport, Pinellas County, or even in the whole entire state of Florida, which means that unlike a trained service dog or a service mini horse (which are also a federally recognized type of service animal), he will have no public access rights other than to pet-friendly places of course.

Cat training will just be something that I have to learn along the way, since I have no experience training a cat. However, I do offer balanced dog training services. I hope to one day gain enough experience to become certified by the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP-CDT, IACP-CSDT, and IACP-PAT).

I am also thinking about becoming a Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS) through Pet Sitters International (PSI) after I earn a year of experience from pet sitting, which I will reach this October! 😊

For all requests regarding my balanced dog training services or at-your-own-home pet sitting requests for any pet other than a dog or a cat (i.e. snakes, horses, ferrets, etc), please PM me on Facebook.

For requests regarding my at-your-own-home pet sitting services for dogs and cats (including drop-in visits if you live no more than a mile away from my address that I will provide in Gulfport) as well as my dog walking services (which is also only available to doggy pawrents that live within no more than a mile away from my address in Gulfport), please check out my Rover pet sitter and dog walker profile here: rover.com/sit/jennif38150

My Rover promo code for all furparents that are brand new to Rover gives you $20 off if you make your first booking through me. This code is JENNIF38150

I also have a 5 star rating on Rover, and receive occasional requests from a repeat client who has a medium-sized bully breed mix.

Have a wonderful day, everyone! 😊

Whenever I pet sit any furbaby, I will very rarely leave your house. I do not currently have any other form of work. I will pretty much only ever leave your home to get groceries and any other necessities, but even then, I usually just use Instacart for that.

I have...

- No breed or size restrictions

- Experience with a dog that had mild special needs

- Oral medication administration experience

- Experience with a mildly food aggressive dog and my own former fear reactive Pit Bull (please note that I typically will not accept any pet that is aggressive towards adult women for obvious safety reasons)

- I'm knowledgeable about dog body language

- Will follow every client's requests

- Offer a**l gland expression, bathing, wrinkle cleaning (for breeds that require this), ear cleaning, and teeth brushing. No actual grooming. Nail trimming is also available, but my fiance will have to accompany me due to the fact that I do not have enough strength to operate those complicated pet nail clippers lol.

I will not have much availability this month. I am going on a 1 week vacation, but I don't know exactly when it's happening. I will most likely not be available much this month or in late and the first few days of September, possibly early October. I really don't know for sure, but ik that I'll definitely be totally free by mid to late October! May or may not be available on Thanksgiving or Christmas.

For all inquiries regarding pet sitting availability for pets other than dogs or cats (i.e. snakes, horses, birds, etc), please PM me on Facebook. No pet mice, rats, small lizards, or insects though.

Hey y'all, unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, I am no longer offering pet boarding, doggy day care, and private dog park services. However, I am still able to offer at-your-own-home pet sitting, dog walking, and balanced dog training services.

I apologize for all of the confusion.

Since a young age, I've always been an animal lover. I've always been especially good at caring for animals and even training dogs. I trained my own service dog starting at age 17, and both of my dogs (who now live with my parents) were even able to earn their AKC Canine Good Citizen certification ....

I'm leaving Dave the Ragdoll's home later today. He's such a sweet kitty 😺. I'll definitely miss him a lot.

Are you in need of an at-your-own-home pet sitter or a balanced dog trainer?

Do you live in Pinellas County (or anywhere in the Tampa Bay area if your requested pet sitting stay is at least 1 week or longer)?

If you answered yes to both of those questions, then I'm your girl! 😁

I have senior dog experience, oral medication administration experience, experience with a slightly food aggressive dog, and experience with a mildly special needs dog client before.

I am willing to pet sit any kind of pet, with the exception of pet rats, mice, insects, and small lizards.

Check me out on Rover! My Rover promo code is JENNIF38150 . If you use that promo code and you're brand new to Rover, you can get $20 off your first booking with me! rover.com/sit/jennif38150

For other kinds of pets such as ferrets, horses, snakes, etc, my pricing is the same as it is for cats on Rover. Since Rover doesn't list pets other than dogs or cats, you would have to pay me off of Rover if you own any other kind of pet in order to receive my services.

Event pet sitting (i.e. for weddings, parties, etc): $40/pet

Individual dog training sessions: $65/session

Group dog training sessions: $75/session

Annual service dog public access tests (including owner trained service dog teams, but excluding hearing dog teams): $20/test

Annual therapy dog temperament tests: $20/test

Annual search & rescue dog tests: $20/test

I only offer virtual dog training sessions through Facebook video chat to anyone that lives anywhere around the world. The only exception would be for annual service dog public access tests, annual therapy dog temperament tests, and annual search and rescue dog tests.

I can train dogs both on and off-leash in: Crate training, leash training, housebreaking, puppy bite inhibition, search and rescue dogs, therapy dogs (including facility dogs), service dogs (excluding hearing dogs), obedience, separation anxiety reduction, basic manners (i.e. no jumping, no begging, etc), sound anxiety reduction (i.e. for thunder, fireworks, etc), animal aggression/reactivity reduction, human aggression/reactivity reduction, muzzle training, protection dogs, rally obedience classes, and barking reduction.

NO BREED RESTRICTIONS!

NO SIZE RESTRICTIONS!

AGGRESSIVE/REACTIVE PET-FRIENDLY!*

These are photos of all of my Rover pet sitting clients ❀.

*For all in-person stays, pets cannot be aggressive towards adult women.

Here's a reminder to all dog owners: Make sure to check any solid ground for how hot it is with your hand before you walk your dog! Burnt paws are a very real and painful issue for dogs.

If your dog can get used to wearing doggy boots, that's a good idea too, so that way you don't have to only walk your dog on grass and dirt on super hot days 🐢.

June 6th will be Visually Impaired People Day, so let's talk about guide animals for the blind!

Guide animals for the blind are often better than white canes in several different ways.

For starters, guide animals are trained to display intelligent disobedience, which can mean that if a blind handler tells their guide animal to guide them across the street but the handler doesn't know that a vehicle is about to drive through, the guide animal will display intelligent disobedience by refusing to guide their blind handler across the street.

And that's just one of the many ways that guide animals for the blind are absolutely amazing, highly trained creatures.

A guide animal is typically a dog, but there are also alternatives to guide dogs, including guide mini horses.

Guide animals are not for every blind person. Some people may be allergic to, afraid of, or simply dislike animals.

ARE MUZZLES CRUEL?

Muzzles not only help keep the public safe from aggressive dogs, it can also help keep your dog safe as well.

Whether your dog is aggressive or just simply eats things off the ground that they shouldn't be eating (i.e. every young puppy ever lol), muzzles are an excellent tool to use.

A person has every right to harm your aggressive dog if and when your dog viciously attacks them, their pet, their livestock, or even some other innocent person, someone else's pet, or someone else's livestock. A properly fitted muzzle on a dog (along with a short, non-retractable leash) can help prevent a vicious dog attack.

Dog attacks can be very traumatic for people and even other animals.

Dog attack-related PTSD exists in humans, and there have been many cases in which a service animal is no longer able to continue working after being viciously attacked by a dog, for example.

If you're still concerned about how "cruel" muzzles seem, basket muzzles are actually the best type of muzzles for your dog to wear, because they're the only type of muzzle that allows dogs to pant, drink water, and even eat food (when it's handed to them) freely.

So, would you rather see your dog get hurt by someone or by something poisonous that they ate, or would you rather put a muzzle on them?

Sort of recently, I had a potential pet sitting client of mine tell me that they haven't yet started training and socializing their 6-month-old Mini Poodle mix puppy because "that's too young to start training a dog" (in addition to offering balanced dog training services, I also offer at-your-own-home pet sitting and dog walking services).

Now, that's not true at all! No wonder the poor pup was a terrified, growling mess when I got there.

I personally started training my previous pups at the ages of 2 months and 3 months old, so basically almost immediately after I got them.

By the time my Pit pup was 3 months old, so about 2 weeks after I got her, my extremely intelligent pup already knew 5 fun tricks. The results with my Lab pup after about 2 weeks was about the same.

The younger you can train and socialize your dog, the better. However, you can always teach an old dog new tricks as well.

04/23/2023

This pretty Pittie girl (Diamond) did absolutely excellent yesterday while learning to become bilingual! She now knows the basics of sit, lie down, stay, heel, and to release from these commands in another language.

No, we will NOT give out the name of the other language that we're training her in, because the whole point is so that the general public can't go up to her and start commanding her in English as easily.

Yes, I know that because Diamond is technically bilingual, she still knows English commands.

However, in addition to training her in a different language, we're also going to train her to ignore English commands from strangers until I give her the command in a different language. She should only listen to English commands when she's around immediate family. But no, we haven't gotten to that level of training yet.

We're going to train her to build up her confidence enough in order to hopefully succeed at protection work. We're just in the process of making and testing out our own bite suit, and once that has been made and tested, we will then be able to train protection dogs for the general public! πŸ˜ƒ

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that although Diamond no longer works as my service dog, she still tasked perfectly yesterday for my anxiety before it became out of control! She ignored all commands and just persistently alerted me until I sat down and she performed deep pressure therapy and tactile stimulation 😊❀.

---

MYTH: Trained protection dogs are dangerous and may attack anyone unprovoked.

TRUTH: A properly trained protection dog will not just attack anyone. Instead, protection dogs will ONLY attack actual threats.

(Note: This is a throwback pic of Diamond. I wasn't able to get any pics of her yesterday.)

Today is service animal Saturday! (Yes, I made that up lol)

This is a throwback pic to when Diamond (the red nose Pit Bull) was my service dog. Sadly, she had to retire from public access work due to severe nervousness issues. Unfortunately, not all dogs can make it as service dogs.

Although, to this day, Diamond still tasks pretty dang well for psych reasons. She lives with my parents now, but I do get to visit her and Banjo (the cream Labrador) somewhat often.

Also, this pic was taken back when Banjo was my mom's service dog. He later became my service dog with my mom's permission, and he proved himself to be excellent at service dog work. He also lives with my parents now though.

I miss both of my beloved doggos sooo much πŸ˜₯🐢🐾.

Edit: The stuffed "service dog" was brought along with me at the time to raise awareness towards the problem of fake service animals.
