Luna- The Great Pyrenees!
The Great Pyrenees originated in France and was used to guard livestock. With a giant white puffball protecting the herd, there's not much that wouldn't think twice when seeing this dog.

Luna is like a small Polar Bear- but much more gentle! This girl is a sweetheart.
She walks around on patrol most of the day with a bark that's felt in the chest! When it's time to rest she curls up and turns into a big fluffy statue.
She thinks she's a tiny lap dog 😆

The Labradoodle- starring Murphy!

Murphy is one of the most laid-back dogs you could meet. He took everything as it came and went with the flow! If the other dogs wanted to play, he played. If it was time to chill, he chilled.
Classic Labrador temperament with the "take no 💩" attitude of the poodle!

The Labradoodle is a cross between the Labrador Retriever and a standard, mini, or toy poodle- and is hypoallergenic like the poodle. There is some argument as to whether this dog came from the U.S. or Australia but records show it first appeared in the 1950's in both countries.

Meet Sullivan! This happy dude likes nothing better than chilling on the couch in the AC... probably all that black fur.

Whenever it was time to go outside he would poke his face out to check the temp. and never stayed out more than a few minutes. He is definitely an indoor dog.

At nearly 110lbs he had the loudest bark in the house but his classic Labrador temperament was calm as could be.

Have you ever heard of a Silver Lab?
To be honest- it was our first time.

This handsome guy is Max!
Max is playful, friendly, and intelligent- Typical characteristics of any Labrador.

What's interesting is the dilute gene that gives the "Silver" his color was rare up until recent years. The Silver Lab is not yet recognized as an independent breed but still considered a Chocolate.
Same goes for Champagne labs being yellows, and Charcoals being Blacks.

Genetics aside, Max is one of a kind. He kept everybody on their toes with all his playful energy!

The Rottweiler: Characteristics and purpose. Starring Roxanne!

The Rottweiler is one of the most well known dogs in the world and for good reason. When you hear the word Rottweiler, strength and size come to mind!
But what does Rottweiler mean?
In German the Rottweiler was known as rottweiller metzgerhund which means 'Rottweil butchers dogs'- because their main use was to herd livestock and pull carts of butchered meat to the market. They did the work of horses!
They are still used to herd livestock in some places but now are also used for search and rescue, guard, police, and family companions.

Rottweilers are usually calm, confident, and courageous. They are rarely shy and can be stubborn. They are self assured and usually take a wait-and-see approach when meeting new people- never warming up immediately or indiscriminately.
They are very affectionate family dogs and rarely leave the sides of their people.

Roxy is an American Rottweiler. Though there are slight differences between American and German, today it usually comes down to where they were born.

This girl is still under a year old and full of energy! She is sweet as can be but also very stubborn at times. She immediately knew her place coming into a new pack and asserted herself just as quickly.
One interesting thing about Roxy is she made sure she was the first one out the door when going outside, and first one going inside, everytime! A confident and fearless trait you would want in a gaurd dog, or search dog.

We are thankful that we had this chance to spend time with and care for her!

Meet the new members of The Dog House pack- Bear and Roxy!

Roxy is an American Rottweiler. Still under 1 year old, she weighs about 60lbs. & is full of that puppy energy!

Bear is a near identical copy of our female pit but he's mixed with something... we'll know soon enough.
