Our Story
Bennett's Clubhouse began serving clients in 2017 in the Portland, Maine area. The business relocated at the end of 2017, and is now serving the greater Augusta area (Hallowell, Manchester, Winthrop, Gardiner, etc.). In 2018, Bennett's Clubhouse acquired a physical location, with more than four acres.
My name is Katie MacDonald, and I am a dog trainer and the owner of Bennett's Clubhouse. I graduated from Animal Behavior College in 2016 with a certificate in dog training. As part of my certificate I completed an internship with Mr. Dog Training in West Bath, Maine.
I adopted my first dog, Bennett, in the summer of 2014. An Australian Cattle Dog/Chow Chow mix, Bennett challenged me, and required a lot of training and patience. As my skills to manage Bennett grew, so did my confidence and love of working with dogs. I began pet sitting through Rover.com in 2015 during grad school, and shortly after began at Animal Behavior College.
Dexter joined the pack in early 2019. The three-legged Australian Cattle Dog/Corgi mix has had a tough go at life. However, since arriving to Maine from Georgia, Dexter has been living the life of luxury following his big brother around and basking in the sun spots around the house. Dexter has been challenging in different ways than Bennett, but I am enjoying the new challenge and learning more about the minds of dogs.
