Update from Meko and Yuri, formerly Lexi and Livvi. This pair, brother and sister have such a loving ! They're always cuddling together ❤️ She sends me sweet pictures every couple of months.
If you've adopted previously from my rescue, please continue to text me new pictures multiple times a year. Even though I'm no longer rescuing Kittens, nothing is as uplifting to my heart as seeing recent pictures of the ones adopted and living their best lives! If you no longer have my cell number, PM me.

🤔 What do these photos have in common? I've been absent from Facebook and social media for months now. The end of August I was taken by ambulance to the ER and shortly after, admitted to ICU for 3 days. Several months before that I began having extreme back pain and couldn't step of a curb without severe pain. Then, I pulled something on my side shortly after. This caused me to be unable to walk from one room to another without my breathing sounding like I was hyperventilating. I tried every topical solution and muscle relaxers with no relief. After getting steroids to take, that only relieved my pain one day. But, even though I was barely eating because of pain and weakness, by the time I got to the ER, my blood sugar was 700!!
While hospitalized, they started treating me with insulin and constantly drawing blood for lab work. That caused the bruises in the picture. Because of the continued back pain, in addition to giving me tramadol, which thankfully relieved me for several hours. They also did a MRI and discovered I now have a herniated disc in my lower back.
8 years ago today, my husband had a stroke, resulting in paralysis in his right side. I've been the only one getting him in and out of bed and into/out of the wheelchair and fully caring for him all this time. Well, this finally resulted in injury to myself. So, I'm no longer lifting him. For the last few months we've relied on his sister and her husband to come on their days off to get him up out of bed. But, that's left him in bed 3-4 days in a row. We had a company come out several weeks ago and talk to us about installing a ceiling lift (2nd picture) that's motorized and has a harness to raise him out of bed, straight to wheelchair. It was installed earlier this week. We're working thru learning the best ways to use it. But, it's a good solution.
I've been working on building my strength, trying to walk multiple times a week, even if just 5 or 10 minutes. Every day I feel a little more normal. Very few people knew what I've been going through, or how serious it was, and I appreciate your thoughts and prayers. As well as checking on me. It's a long road. I'm thankful my sister-in-law pushed me into going to the hospital that day, if I'd waited even one more day, I could have been in a diabetic coma, or worse.

🎉 Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of adoptions for 4 cats. I wasn't feeling well, so I didn't get to post them. I'm putting them all together here.
Siblings Lexie and Livvi, now Meko and Yuri wake their mom up every day by laying on her chest 🤣
Roma, now Jewels is such a beautiful girl. She's in the most loving family and loves her families other kitty.
River, now Ella has the best dad and loves checking out boxes to see if there's treats inside. She looks just like her sister that her dad had already adopted from another rescue before Ella joined their family. It's so wonderful getting updates from adoption families ❤️

This handsome boy who was dumped by the school at the end of the school year has his neuter appointment on Wednesday at tcap arlington! If anyone would like to help sponsor his vetting so we can get him ready for a loving home, it would be a huge help!
Bernie is quite the cuddle bug! He loves belly rubs before bed and is now completely potty trained to go outside, fine with cats, great with other dogs, love children. Like all young dogs he does have a lot of energy but once he tires himself out,he will snuggle up somewhere for his afternoon nap. He’s also going to finish up his vaccines and get himself a microchip while he’s getting neutered. He’s a sweet boy! Whoever adopts him must agree to spoil him like a baby, just like I do!🤣❤️

Squeaker is a medium long haired beauty who used to hide for weeks when he arrived and was very timid. We weren’t sure if he was ever going to come out from hiding.
When Sapphire arrived, he started to warm up immediately and stopped hiding.
Sapphire is only with us for a few weeks while her family finds a new place to live. We would love to get squeaker into a home with another friendly cat for him to have as a friend ❤️ he’s been fully vetted and microchipped and he’s ready for a loving family. He will be a bit shy at first but with patience and understanding, he will warm up and make himself at home.

🎉 Happy 1 year adoption anniversary for Aladdin and Jasmine! (It was yesterday, but my phone wouldn't save post)
These two siblings were adopted together by the sweetest, loving family! They love hanging out on the beanbag chair filled with kids toys. Aladdin only sleeps on cat beds if sister Jasmine is laying there. Jasmine loves being held like a baby by her . Aladdin occasionally shows his "wear a sticker" fashion 🤣

Currently 3 inside the tunnel. It's huge! I thought the bed was going to be bigger and even a tiny kitten would have made that part lay on the ground once on it. But, Snuggles loves it anyway. They've all been all around and inside. This will be enjoyed for a very long time 🤣
