This page is created to inform and encourage others in racing and aftercare to speak up for the horse and help find solutions to keep horses safe after racing....including questioning aftercare organizations and keeping an eye out for fake "rescues".

Aftercare organizations should have to report to HISA exactly how many horses come to them so broken that they can never have another career or even be pasture sound.
Why do racing connections expect aftercare organizations to handle all expenses when a horse breaks down?
If a horse gets injured while racing, shouldn't that be the responsibility of the owner and trainer?
Maybe if it was, some people might be more mindful of their practices.
An organization we know of was contacted yesterday to take in 3 horses from 3 different tracks, 3 different connections....all injured with new career limiting injuries. 1 has been running with known chips in both knees for a year.
This is what is killing the sport. Not HISA

An honest perspective. Hopefully someone in a position to make change will step up.

We have a really disturbing story coming up about Oklahoma racing and aftercare.
Stay tuned...an interview with the people involved is in.progress.
Imagine letting a personal vendetta get in the way of doing the right thing for horses.
The lengths people will go to in order to keep an organization with a stellar reputation from being supported by the racing community is astounding.
Shame on you TRAO and Re*****on Park for allowing high profile owners that continually put horses at risk to dictate which organization receives support from the local racing community. All because their particular stable fills races. It's really just wrong.

Now here is an interesting story.
Isn't Sara Rae Draper and Dragon Stables the same place that starved the bailed mare named Storm Kitles...who happened to be pregnant....and thankfully was taken in by a legitimate rescue who foaled her out...the baby survived but unfortunately was orphaned 3 days later due to the poor condition of the mare, (who was not in bad shape when she arrived to Sara Draper.)
Dragon Stables may be a 501 C3, but they should not be trusted with any horse's welfare, much less be bailing 9 horses with no safety net.
