35 years. It doesn’t seem possible that August 1, 1989 was 35 years ago, and Nottingham Animal Hospital opened the doors for the first time, in a little white building on Route #33. I examined our first patients on a card table because the equipment shipment was delayed. We were in the midst of a recession. I had a staff of 2 medical assistants and a groomer. Through the years, we expanded our facility, moved to our current location in 2008 (also in the midst of a recession!) added wonderful staff and associate veterinarians, improved our equipment, changed procedures, and learned new techniques. However, some things have remained the same. We have some of the same clients from those early days (you know who you are!), some of the same staff from the early years (looking at you, Noreen, Leslie, Lynne, Marlene), and the same mission- to provide the best medical care to our patients in a friendly, professional, comfortable atmosphere. I am so appreciative to the legions of staff- veterinarians, technicians, receptionists, who have transformed NAH to the team it is today. I am grateful to have met so many wonderful pets, some who will never leave my heart, during these decades. I am so thankful to you, our clients, old and new, who have entrusted the care of your family members to our team though these years. And a special shout out to my family who have been with me every step of the way. I could never have imagined the incredible journey we have all taken in these 35 years, and I’m excited to see what the next years bring for all of us! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Happy 4th of July from our team to you!
As we gather to celebrate Independence Day with family and friends, let's not forget our furry companions! Here are some tips to keep your pets safe and calm during the festivities:
🎇 Create a Safe Space: Make sure your pets have a quiet, comfortable place to retreat away from the noise.
🐶 Keep Them Indoors: Fireworks can be frightening for pets. Keep them indoors and secure windows and doors.
🐱 Update ID Tags: Ensure your pets' ID tags and microchip information are up to date, just in case they get scared and run off.
🐾 Avoid Fireworks: Never use fireworks around pets. They can cause severe burns and trauma.
🎆 Watch the BBQ: Be mindful of what your pets eat. Certain foods can be harmful to them.
Wishing everyone a safe and joyful 4th of July!
