It was a good opening weekend for some of the woody duck dogs. These two dogs went on their first hunts and both came back with some birds. It was a pleasure getting the dogs ready to get to the woods.

We look forward to a great season for all the woody duck dogs and can’t wait to see all the places these hunting partners go.

Seeing it all come together in the woods and being able to watch the owners reaction is why we do what we do. Being able to train somebody’s hunting partner is a blessing, especially when the client is happy.

Now it is time to get everyone home for the season and let the dogs do what they are meant to do. Stay connected with us to see all the trips we have planned for the season with the Woody duck dogs.

Why do they call a dog “man’s best friend”? It’s because the bond between man and dog is one of the strongest bonds there is. Especially a working dog and his/her handler. If you don’t love your dog and treat the dog like family, then you are already in the wrong. But if you can lay your hands on a dog and beat the dog within an inch of his life, then you are just plain evil. A lab’s main goal in life is to please you. It is one of the most loyal, if not the most loyal, things on this earth. If all you want is a work horse and have no intention of the dog being just a pet, then please do not contact me. Not all dogs make great duck dogs or tracking dogs or whatever work you choose to do, and that’s okay, just let them be a pet and be good to you.

People who beat their dogs like that boy did, give us trainers and gun dog owners a bad name.
