Calvin Center's Horses & Warriors promotes healing by improving physical, mental and psychological well-being of wounded military personnel and veterans. Program participants in Horses & Warriors meet at the Calvin Center barn to groom, ride, and enjoy some time outdoors within a military community of trained veteran volunteers. (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) certified instructors.

General information

We meet each Friday during the year, with short breaks between sessions. The program lasts from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the equestrian center. Activities are structured around guidance from referring physician, OT/PT or LCSW, and instructor, with input from each participant as to what they would like to achieve. Horses & Warriors is offered at no cost to Wounded Warrior participants or approved groups from the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Volunteers assisting in the program are all veterans or active-duty military. Donations/sponsorships are welcome, and are tax-deductible.
