Baxter & Rip! 🐾

About a year ago Baxter was left searching for a home. I decided to take him in and help find his forever home, he now lives a wonderful life with a great family 💕

Rip came here a few months back for a 4 week program. He struggled with quite a bit of reactivity, we got him to a much better place! He is doing so AWESOME compared to the first time I met him! 😍

Both of these boys are back for boarding! It is so special to have returning guests! I am very thankful & appreciate all continued support!

Welcome Denali! 🤩

Denali is a roughly a 1.5 year old Catahoula Leopard Dog. He is with us for a 4 week program! Denali struggles with basic manners like jumping, counter surfing and is occasionally a bully to his Catahoula family member at home.

We will build up a nice obedience foundation and communication system in which he understands!

We are 4 days into his program and he’s already got posing down 💅🏻🤣

Welcome Milo! 🤩

Milo is here for a 4 week program! His owners have done a wonderful job at starting an obedience foundation but Milo struggles with some reactivity that we are going to address!

He’s doing wonderful for day 3 and already eager to hangout on his place cot with no help from me 💕

Looking forward to where this guy will be in 4 weeks!

What an awesome vacation with my two 🌟 boys!

Zorro & Reaper got to go on a cross country road trip with me. We explored MANY states including South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada & Utah.

A well trained dog makes a world of difference 💕

Now to head back home and get back to training! Looking forward to a summer filled with ALL the dogs!

He is in his second week of his program!

Scruffy had an unfortunate start at life and missed out on a lot of puppy socializing/exposure. This has made him a bit of a shy guy but we are working everyday on building his confidence and showing him new things!

His favorite thing to do is give paw 💖

This girl has come so far! When she first arrived she’d pull SO hard on the leash and was just all over the place. Today I’m able to walk away from her in command with ease.

We have one week left together and we will continue to work everyday on her skills!

Welcome Raptor ☺️ ALL the way from Minnesota!

Raptor is here for a 4 week in kennel train!

Raptor has unintentionally been put through a rough few months prior to getting to me. He has went to two other trainers where no success was made and he was even labeled dangerous and “needing to be put down.” As you can see here he is not the “terrible dog” he was interpreted to be and we are off to a great start.

The system in which South River Canine trains is started with letting the dog think for themselves. They are able to discover what behaviors will get them paid with a reward they find valuable. Essentially a game that the dog believes he created so he’s eager to play over and over again. Given what Raptor has gone through I anticipate us to spend a little more time in the shaping stages to create a healthy relationship between us and build into the next stages past that. We will progress at Raptors rate and show him a way to communicate in which he understands! 💕

There are so many wonderful trainers out there but his owner chose to travel 12+ hours to get him here, and we are SO thankful for the opportunity to work with Raptor!

It’s been a few weeks now but as soon as I got home I jumped right back into the groove of working with everyone 💖

Savannah is heading home today after her puppy course! 🐾

Savannah arrived here very fearful and timid. We have spent the last two weeks exposing her to as many new sites and sounds that we could! We also worked on some leash manners, sit, and place training!

Her and Aurora (a guest for boarding) are the best of friends and getting their last play time in before she leaves.

Keep doing big things Savannah, it was a pleasure working with you and your owners 💖

South River Canine offers exercise days! If you have a busy week and are unable to get your dog out bring them here for the day! Tucker is from here initially so I know him very well so he does have off leash privileges!
