Compeer Financial has a $1500 scholarship available to high school seniors. Deadline is 15 March.

Applicant Eligibility
* Resident of Compeer Financial’s 144 county territory
* Graduating high school senior
* Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
* Designated agricultural major, interest in an agriculture-related field, or have an agriculture or rural background

We are sold out for the moment. We expect to have a few more dozen as the hens start to think about spring time. Those on the wait list will be notified. Want to be on the wait list?

We do have more chicks on order and you can sign up now. We expect the 2025 hens to go into production mid-July.

We've started an option for you to purchase your subscription now but not activate it until your eggs start flowing. We have just 31 dozen per week left available. Don't wait - invest in eggs.

And yes, if you started a 3 month and want to increase to a year, you can do that as long as slots are available.

Many have been asking about Helena (aka 314). She is pretty tired from pushing herself too hard. She tries to stand until she is completely worn out. We have a heated bed for her at night and move her around during the day so she doesn't get bored. She loves being up on the hay bale and it gives us a chance to do stretching and massage on her legs.

For those who don't know her, 314 has been sick from parasites since the early summer. She's had a couple close calls but snapped back and seemed like she was out of the woods. Several weeks ago she had a relapse and lost the use of her legs again. She's a real fighter though and we aren't giving up on her yet.

Price Increase:

Sorry folks. We've struggled to avoid this but production costs continue to go up and we, like all small farmers, have almost no margin.

Those who have been with us know that we do not follow commodity pricing, we set our prices based on the cost of production. Sometimes we are higher than the store price, sometimes lower but we are consistent.

We are committed to producing the highest quality farm products and doing it sustainably and humanely using heritage livestock. We continue to be able to market sustainable heritage products at prices that compete with large organic farms who are using hybrid breeds.

The new price is $7.00/doz effective immediately. Subscriptions will renew at the new price.
