Dog parks provide many benefits for both dogs and their humans. Even so, there are some important considerations to keep in mind.

🔹 Physical Exercise: Running, playing fetch, and socializing help keep dogs fit and healthy.

🔹 Mental Stimulation: Dog parks offer new sights, sounds, and smells, enriching their minds and boosting their well-being.

Laz the Labrador was dreading the holidays. Not for the festive cheer, oh no! Laz was worried about his "babysitter," 12-year-old Timmy.

Timmy meant well, but his idea of "fun" involved questionable treats (leftover pizza crusts?) and questionable walks (mostly just sitting on the porch). Laz yearned for something more.

He dreamt of plush beds, gourmet treats, and endless playtime with other canine companions. He dreamt of North Paws!

Laz, with a mischievous glint in his eye, decided to take matters into his own paws. He "accidentally" knocked over the Christmas tree, "misplaced" Timmy's favorite video game, and even "borrowed" a few socks for a very enthusiastic game of tug-of-war.

Timmy, understandably, was not amused. But Laz's parents, wiser to their furry friend's antics, saw the writing on the wall.

This year, Laz would be spending the holidays at North Paws, where quality care and canine camaraderie were guaranteed. No more questionable treats, no more questionable walks. Just pure, unadulterated doggy bliss.

Whether your pup is a young pup or a seasoned senior, the benefits of training are endless. 🐕✨ Did you know that dogs, regardless of age, have the capacity to learn new skills? Research shows that older dogs can still form new memories and learn new behaviors! 🧠🔍

According to a 2015 study published in Frontiers in Neuroscience, dogs’ brains retain neuroplasticity throughout their lives, meaning they can adapt and create new neural connections at any age. This means with patience and consistent practice, even senior dogs can learn commands and tricks!

Training also helps keep dogs mentally sharp. Just like humans, dogs benefit from mental exercise as they age. Engaging their minds through positive reinforcement keeps their brains active and can even help prevent cognitive decline. 🧩

Even though the Holiday season is just getting started, at North Paws we're sad to see November go. It's been a monumental month for our graduates, and we couldn't be more proud to see them go out into the world to fulfill the duties that they have worked so hard to earn.

Even so, these achivements have us looking to the future, and what's next for North Paws and our smart, talented roster of trainees.

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, thanks for being a part of the North Paws team!!
