This baby is loving foster care and will make a beautiful 😍 addition to a loving family. Sage turned 3 on Thanksgiving day. She is fully vaccinated and will be spayed in January. Her foster mom says she is docile and affectionate. She has been good with all dogs regardless of size or gender and seems a bit afraid of cats. She has a dog door to the backyard and therefore hasn't had any indoor accidents. Sage has spent her life on a chain outside. We would love for her new family to have a fenced in backyard so she can continue to enjoy running free. A huge 💛THANK YOU 💛 to Happy Tails Private Dog Boarding for fostering this baby while she finds a forever family.

As we celebrate this holiday season, I wanted to pause and express my gratitude for our amazing volunteer team. We have become a strong group of 24 individuals that walk dogs at the shelter, open our doors to provide loving foster homes, monitor emails, manage social media, build insulated dog houses, host adoption events, donate money, coordinate and run adoption events, work with the community to plan fundraisers, and SO much more. Everything we've been able to accomplish this year was because of this group of dog loving people giving generously of their time.

None of our team gets paid, we do this because we want better for the animals in our community. Most of them work behind the scenes so you may never see their picture on social media.

Take a moment to thank these volunteers for making a difference. 💛

This gentle girl is now in our care. Shes spending two days Commonwealth Animal Hospital to get vaccinated and start a slow refeeding to gain weight. Once she’s got a clean bill of health she’ll be fostered until she finds her forever family ❤️

She sat calmly in the car for transport, she got excited to see other pups in the waiting room, nudged by hand to get rubs on her head, and didn’t seem to mind the cat. We can’t wait to learn more about her!

Little Harley would love to have family for Christmas 🎄 This baby was abandoned in a barn with 6 other dogs found starving. He is vaccinated, potty trained, and will be neutered soon. He loves to cuddle and gets along great with people, kids, cats, and other dogs. This boy is a keeper ❤️

There's still time to help us Stuff the Sleigh 's Perk and Chill! We could really use gift cards to Lowes as we prepare to start building Woof Village. These cards will be used to buy coating for the walls and floors, add insulation, install dog doors, and add a heating/cooling unit to each cottage to ensure our large breed dogs stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We have been inundated with request to save large breed dogs, but rarely have fosters available. Woof Village will help us reach that dream of saving more of the big lovables ❤

Come meet Gary at Burkmann Nutrition Danville tomorrow from 10-12pm and get your puppy kisses. Gary is just over 4 months old, loves to play, and is working on potty training at his current foster home. He is a very sweet puppy that was born in an accidental litter. His father is a Australian Shepherd and his mother a mix breed, so we assume Gary will be around 50lbs full grown. He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines.
