We were so happy to donate one final gift of $50,000 to Dr. Mark Albertini at UW-CCC this month. We would like to share his gratitude with all of you who have supported Ann's Hope through the years!

"I would like to express my great appreciation for your additional gift of $50,000 for my UWCCC Melanoma Research lab. Your gift will have an immediate impact as it will allow us to expand the study you are supporting to identify an informative biomarker to identify metastatic melanoma patients who will benefit from treatment with immune checkpoint blockade. While treatment with immune checkpoint blockade has improved the lives of many metastatic melanoma patients and has likely cured some patients with metastatic disease, over 50% of metastatic melanoma patients still do not sufficiently benefit from these treatments. It is essential to understand why some patients benefit and others do not benefit from immune checkpoint blockade, and I predict that understanding will provide a meaningful benefit for many metastatic melanoma patients. Your support of my UWCCC Melanoma Research lab is helping us address this unmet need.

I would like to again thank you for your amazing support of my UWCCC Melanoma Research lab. Each of you are valuable members of my melanoma research lab team.” - With Appreciation, Dr. Mark Albertini

16 years, 2 million dollars raised and 1 Guiness World Record set, Ann Harrington and Anne Frentzel have impacted countless lives with their foundation Ann's Hope. But at the end of 2021, they will step aside from the foundation they created.

The duo has been instrumental in raising awareness and educating others about melanoma, as well as supporting groundbreaking research at UW Carbone Cancer Center.

“Our hope to educate was just as important as our hope to raise money and help find a cure,” Frentzel said. https://uw.health/2XqWUwE

A HUGE thank you for joining us virtually this morning. And THANK YOU for donating! With the registrations, donations, and corporate sponsor gifts, we have currently raised just over $20,000. May 1, 2005, was our first Block Melanoma Event. That first event raised $35,000, that is the LOWEST amount this event has ever raised. PLEASE spread the word and share the link! Let's raise over $35,000 so that continues to be the case!! WE CAN DO THIS TOGETHER!
