Silvia has been at JPAWS since late June when she was turned in as a stray. She is 9 yrs young with a joyful personality, giving kisses upon request. Sil recently had a mass removed from her left side and would be best served by a home environment in which to recover. (The mass tested benign.) She will require not much more than regular care as her incision heals, other than completing her current oral medication regimen. Silvia is tolerant of other dogs, but prefers not to have busybody cats in her face, though laid-back, independent felines are OK. She is a nearly perfect canine companion package. Silvia is housebroken, rising at the sight of a leash and going out to potty on command. She is heartworm negative and has been administered Proheart 6, protecting her against heartworms until March 2023.
Silvia is available for release to an approved rescue partner, a foster home, or adoptive home. For more information, visit Silvia at JPAWS at 2701 Lapalco Blvd Harvey LA 70058 (504-349-5111) or email [email protected]
Our first graduate from dog training!
We are so happy to show off Lokiβs new tricks today. Our first graduate of the dog training classes that are offered with all adoptions! He has some new tricks to try out and needs to perfect some old ones, but he is definitely on the road to complete obedience.

Reunited after 5 years!
One stray we didnβt post yesterday was Oreo. We didnβt have to post him though, because he was microchipped. The owner was shocked to hear from us because her baby has been missing for 5 years. He had a collar and tags when he went missing, and this is why we say to microchip even if you have those on your pets.
Watch this beautiful reunion between mom and Oreo to get some good feels. And please remember to keep the microchip information current so you can be contacted when they are found.
