Great news!

Meet our new Exotics Specialist, Dr. Jordan Adair! 🌟

Dr. Adair completed his veterinary education at the University of Maryland and the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. He then undertook a combined exotics and dog/cat internship in Ohio, followed by a three-year residency in avian and exotic medicine. During this residency, he treated pet birds, reptiles, and wildlife at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium and Noah’s Lost Ark Sanctuary.

Before joining VESH, Dr. Adair founded the Avian & Exotics department at Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists in Vermont. There, he worked on conservation projects, taught at the University of Vermont, and continued his dedication to wildlife care.

Dr. Adair is excited to bring his expertise to Western Massachusetts, where he will lead VESH's new Exotics Department. He is passionate about providing exceptional care for exotic pets, including birds, reptiles, rabbits, and more, and is eager to develop a wildlife program to support local conservation efforts.

Easthampton will have a dog park in Nonotuck Park. 🐶 🐕‍🦺🦮

This began as a recommendation six years ago to the property committee to pursue a grant for a dog park. It has faced many twists and turns, it has many times appeared like it would be unsuccessful.

Fortunately, through the perseverance of private citizens collaborating with municipal stakeholders and elected officials , we now see a reality of a sense in dog park in our city.

This has been a pet project of mine since my first term City Council. I am grateful to the Friends of the Easthampton Dog Park for all their advocacy. Thank you to the park and recreation commission for seeing the viability of this proposal and for voting to move this forward. Thank you to all the residents and municipal partners who were able to continue to advocate for our canine friends.

This is somewhat of a dream come true. I’m looking forward to seeing this project. Continue to progress. 🐾❤️

We managed not to get washed away in the flood, but it was a close one! It was good to get some play time outside and it will be great for these happy tired pups to curl up tonight!
