***Congratulations to Tim Bedell, he was caught behind the scenes and in the ring being a standup contestant.
Rumor has it, he was even picking up piles of poo around gates and the parking lot. ***

We are honored to gift this award to someone very deserving tomorrow.

Lisa Larkin was a special person to our ranch and horse community, and we know she would be honored to be a part of our day tomorrow.

PARKING INFO FOR CONTESTANTS:

Hello,
The best options for parking will be entering in the North Gate, and following the drive East to the Parking area highlighted in BLUE.

The uncovered pens around the warm-up arena and main arena are first come first serve. Please remember to clean up after your animal.

Covered stalls are available to rent out as well.

📣Attention Contestants:

Very Important Information BELOW:

It’s almost Routt County Fair Open Horse Show time! We are thrilled about the success of this year’s show. Thank you so much for supporting this long-standing event. Entries have already surpassed our expectations without any day of entries, which we anticipate having. Wahoo! That said, we need your help in helping this show run quickly and smoothly.



IMPORTANT!!!⚠️

⏱️We have the arena from 8am-4pm with an event after the Open Horse Show. We ask that all riders please be ready for your turn to show. We will enter the arena from the east end. All riders are asked to line up at least three horses prior to your go. We will not be giving multiple calls for an exhibitor. All class orders will be posted near the arena entrance. The show will begin promptly at 8am.⏱️

We will follow the Colorado 4-H Rulebook. Please refer to this rulebook for all questions. We are waiving the age limit for snaffle bits. All horses, regardless of age, can be exhibited two-handed in a snaffle bit.



Check-In ✅

All riders who have pre-entered MUST check-in prior to showing. Payment and signed waiver must be received prior to an exhibitor receiving their back number. Waivers will be available at registration. Checks are the preferred method of payment. ✍️

· 13 & Under, 14-18, and 19+ = $50 flat fee

· Walk Trot = $30 flat fee

· In-Hand Trail = $10

· Leadline = FREE



Class Clarifications

A rider may only exhibit one horse in Showmanship, Western Horsemanship, English Equitation, and Hunter Hack. If you have entered more than one horse in one of these classes, please look for an additional email to confirm what horse you will be riding in what classes.
Walk Trot riders cannot cross-enter in the 13 & Under classes.
Leadline riders cannot be entered in any other division.
Trail can be exhibited in Western or English attire/tack.
Please exhibit Trail at your convenience while the Trail arena is open. Do not wait until the end of the day to squeeze it in.
Due to time constraints, we will likely run the Walk Trot and Leadline classes in the “warm-up” arena. The Trail arena will be shut down during that time as the Trail judge will be judging the Walk Trot classes.
Showmanship at Halter is required to be eligible for all High Point and Overall awards. Showmanship placings will be used as the tie-breaker if needed.

Food 🍔🥙🥤

The Chuckwagon Grill food truck will be on-site for lunch, snacks, and drinks. Please plan to support them. We are thankful they are providing a food option for our show.



A Few More Reminders

Fairground rules state no dogs and no bikes. We ask that you please adhere to these rules.

Please clean up after you and your horse. If you choose to utilize any stall, you must clean your stall properly. Wheelbarrows will be available, and we ask that all manure and feed is properly removed from stalls and put in the manure pile. We also ask that you clean up around your horse trailer. 💩



We will have a professional photographer onsite, as well as a photo backdrop. Our photographer, Brooke Welch Photography, is donating her time. Please thank and support her business. 📸

In-hand (halter) Showmanship is required to qualify for HighPoint and Overall awards.

Appropriate attire for all divisions is required. However, the judge has waived English show jackets for this show.

Leadline is reserved for the little folks that are not ready to ride on their own.

We will be following 4-H rules. If you are unsure, please ask! We are ironing out the kinks in ruling as we identify them, please be patient as we navigate the gray areas. Our number one goal is a FAIR and FUN show. :)
