Due to some of the horses’ medical conditions, I’ve had to make the tough call not to do lessons in Hebron for the time being.

That being said, we can relocate our lessons to Windy City Arabians in Manhattan, IL on Mondays! If people are willing, we may be able to set up a carpool. We can do private lessons there still, or we can do group lessons as well.

Officially moved the horses back to the summer pasture today!

With all the rain we’ve had, there’s no way we could have started up again in April as we did last year.

I’d like to gage everyone’s interest and see if people would like us to start lessons back up in May?

What do you think? Who is interested in horseback riding lessons this year?

We’re looking at “reopening” in April, if not beforehand!

Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow, predicting an early spring this year! 🌷

Don’t over complicate it.

There was a time when you were just happy to ride, happy to be in the company of horses. It didn’t matter if you could execute a perfect shoulder in, or jump double clear round 1.20 tracks. You were just happy to have two feet in the stirrups and ears leading the way.

You didn’t care about having the best tack, or the newest hi-tech breeches. An old jumper, your favourite, well worn jods and colourful half chaps did the job just fine.

You didn’t spend the days between Christmas and New Year planning a heavy schedule of training sessions, clinics and competitions. You threw tinsel round your pony’s neck and went hacking with friends. The new year was just another 365 days to go riding.

Don’t forget that you started this sport because you loved the animal. You loved the rush of galloping across open fields and the serenity of watching a horse quietly graze in the sun. You do this because there is nothing on this earth that makes you feel more alive than being on the back of a horse, so don’t overcomplicate it.

Enjoy the little things, because one day you’ll look back and realise, they weren’t little at all.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas today! Hope you all enjoyed the weather and got to get outside a bit too!

We’re very Thankful & Blessed for all the students that we’ve had this year! As we move into winter, keep an eye on those “warmer” days! We can still do lessons here and there.

We will announce in the spring when we’re back. No new students are being accepted until spring. We’re going to try to squeeze in our current students on the nice days as we can.

Thank you all! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The weather on Halloween would have made everyone convinced outdoor lessons are over, but weather like today always pops up and makes it possible still.

We are still having lessons! Looks like the rain is going to stay away this next week! If any current students want to come out, please let me know!
*Not taking any new lesson riders until the spring

Can you believe it’s August already!?

Just a reminder, starting on August 18th we will no longer be able to have lessons on Fridays. Starting in September we will no longer be able to have lessons on Wednesdays either and will be sticking to lessons only on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays again. Every other Monday will only be for any makeup lessons that need to be held.

That being said, Peanut has worked her magic with most of her riders and they have moved onto riding the horses. Peanut is now looking for new riders for either lessons or pony rides!

Current availability:
Tuesdays at 7:00pm
Thursdays at 6:45pm
Saturdays and Sundays upon request starting at 9am

Thank you all for your support, can’t wait to see you soon!

It’s 10am and already 80 degrees outside.

As we head into the heatwave this week, knowing our lessons are in the afternoons on weekdays, it would be in our horses’ best interest to cancel lessons this week.

Sunday 7/30 and Wednesday 8/2 will be reserved for our current students to have their makeup lessons.

Peanut is available for a new rider on Tuesday, August 1st @ 7:00. The horses are otherwise already booked that night.

New riders have an opening to start lessons on Thursday, August 3rd at 6:00 or after.

Starting Friday, August 18th Fridays will no longer be available for any lessons.

Thank you for your understanding! Our horses will be getting lots of baths throughout this week

It’s been an early morning at Riley Acres!

Fed the horses and worked Peanut right away! baby brother wanted to get in on the action, so he got to help brush Peanut and went for a pony ride ❤️ getting ready for morning lessons next!

Still accepting new students! I have some people moving around their days/times for the school year. Let me know when you would prefer to come so I can reserve your spots!
