Hey everyone!

We made some changes concerning our internet and our phone carrier.

It has come to my attention that people are not able to call through. It just tells them the voicemail has not been set up.

I'm working to get this fixed within the next couple days, but hopefully it will be resolved today.

If you are trying to reach the shop, the best way to do it would be through Facebook Messenger or email at this time. Or you can message the system through the text you get for reminder and confirmation texts.

Slower day in the shop ( I still haven't learned to not book appointments on Memorial Day 🤣). So I grabbed three of my most moppy pups and they came in for a long needed cut.

I don't let dogs wander on the floor much anymore, mainly because our front door swings out not in, And the slightest risk of a dog escaping terrifies me. . .

But Charlie is the goodest girl. She finds a spot, plants herself, and hangs out until her parents come to pick her up.

I keep forgetting to mention my amazing contractor who did all my work for the new shop!

NW Developments3 LLC showed up in force to help any way they could to get me up and running into this space as quickly as possible. ( Per usual, my move in window was small 😬 )

Nick and his team not only built my countertops and retail space better than I expected, he also helped us move everything from our old space to the new, AND repurposed as much as he could knowing I was on a ✨ teeny tiny✨ budget.

Thank you so much Nick and team for pretty much working a miracle, and being an even better friend on top of that.

HIGHLY recommend for anything you could really need!

Side note. . . How precious are those 🐾 on the concrete countertops?? They belong to his Shar Pei dog, Bear 💕 What a cool touch for a pet business!

Today I am thankful for "hard" dogs. Kind of a weird thing to say, I know.

William is my hard dog of the day and I'm especially grateful today he is on my books.

It's been a VERY trying couple of weeks for me in most aspects of my life. I have been in a permanent bad mood. While I'm at work is no exception.

Grooming dogs isn't one size fits all. Most of the time, dogs don't care about your mood as long as your bad mood isnt coming out in a physical way to make them nervous or scared of you. Some dogs, more than others, feed off of your energy.

Mr. Will is one of those dogs.

The reason I'm thankful for Will today, is he needs me to be in a steady mood. He needs my patience, he needs me to slow down and work at his pace. He forced me to change my attitude so it wasn't a harder groom then it needed to be.

He definitely helped me as much as I helped him.

Thanks Will ❤️

Just as a side note, Will is not a bad or mean dog. His legs are very crooked and so I think he's a little more ouchy than usual. If you go slow, and you go at his pace, he's generally very forgiving. 🙃

Aaaand that's a wrap for Barking Mad at 1403 Birch St!
Tonight was the last night I shut off the open sign at this location.

It's bittersweet as this shop gave me my start, helped me build, taught me lessons, and endured the punishment I put it through doing 12 to 15 dogs a day, 60-70+ dogs a week.

On to bigger and better things, but I'll always remember where I came from ❤️

The lease was signed yesterday, and our last day and our current location is this coming Thursday, the 29th of February!

THE BENEFITS OF GOAT MILK FOR YOUR DOG

How awesome is my mama goat. Took the babies to their new home yesterday and now she's putting out over a quarter day for me.
Not only do I use goat's milk in my treats, I also give it to my dogs raw. Raw goats milk helps with their digestive system, and provides essential vitamins , minerals, fatty acids, and enzymes. The enzymes in raw goat milk actually helo aid in the digestion, which makes it much more tolerable for dogs to digest the cows milk. Raw goat's milk is also best because all the good bacteria isn't cooked out (pasturized) which allows your dog to absorb all those nutrients.
Addition to goat milk being good for your dog internally, but goat milk soap is wonderful for your dog's skin and coat. Dogs skin pH is 6.8 and goat milk soap is right around 6.4 to 6.7, which makes it a perfect complement for dogs. It will soften your dogs coat and nurish the skin while helping to repel pests. It also rinses off much easier and cleaner than traditional dog shampoos. however, not all essential oils and scents are good for your dog. Please do your research to make sure that particular soaps' additional ingredients are pet safe.
