It’s official! The best time of the year starts tomorrow. Good luck to everyone who will be out this weekend for the opening of archery, and here’s your reminder that if you intend to mount an animal, proper care begins in the field!

✨ especially with the warmer weather, get your animal out in a timely manner. If hair begins to slip it is difficult, if not impossible to fix and may mean that the animal is to far gone for mounting.

✨ Do not drag your animal! Drag marks cannot be fixed! Also try to minimize the amount of blood that gets in the hair.

✨Take enough cape! It’s better to have more than not enough. I recommend cutting halfway down the body of the animal, and keep in mind to stay out of the brisket area.

✨ Do not skin the head! Please leave this to your taxidermist. If done improperly it can potentially make your animal unmountable.

Thank you all for the amazing support! Remnant Taxidermy will be closed on the weekends, but I will be available any weekday for intake unless otherwise noted 😁

Just sent this beautiful mallard home. This duck is meant to be mounted with an antique shotgun and I can’t wait to get pictures from my customer when it’s finished . It really is an honor to get to work on mounts with wonderful stories and the trust you all put in me is unbelievable 🩵🩵🩵

Happy Wednesday! Just wanted to hop on and share this beautiful bighorn sheep skull mount that went home last week. I am so honored to say I was trusted with this MASSIVE ram and don’t know that I’ll ever have one in my hands that tops this guy. This mount really presented a challenge with some horn repair and I’m glad to say it turned out amazing. Thank you guys for all the trust you put into me… I love working on creative projects such as this one! 🤩🤩🥹🥹
