I am currently full for beginner riding lessons in the small groups/private lesson program but can take a few more intermediate students. Heartland Camp is filling up!
Hosted at Little Grizzly Ranch
5 minutes south of downtown Helena . Head instructor Jessica Johnson holds a bachelor’s in natural horsemanship from University of Montana Western, grew up horseback, and specializes in offering encouraging and constructive horse training and riding institution.
For riders ages 9 to 13. All experience levels welcome. We provide gentle camp horses or bring your own!
Session one:
9 am to 3 pm daily from Monday June 12th - Friday June 16th.
Session two:
9 a.m. to 3pm daily from Monday June 19th - Friday June 23rd.
Heartland Camp’s itinerary includes:
The famous join up
Hoof ball (soccer for horse and rider)
Horse bath bash
Pony portraits photo sessions
A trail ride scavenger hunt
Horse care 101
Speedy saddler race
Cowboy Olympic chores
Lots of saddle time!

$400 per camper. We provide horses, tack, helmets, and even boots for that cost. This is also what exploration works is charging for camps and they’re not proving thousand pound animals so I don’t want to hear inflation complaints! Thank you Helena for your continued support of our funny farm.

New beginnings. I try to keep a clean line of separation between my business and personal life so this announcement is long overdue. When I named my business Plancich horsemanship, I never anticipated a divorce on my horizon. A return to my maiden name - Johnson - signals a fresh start for me. Little Grizzly Ranch is still home but you will find the name I was born with hanging on my signs from here on out. - Jessica Johnson.

Pony lesson openings. We encourage half hour lessons for students age four to seven. Half hour lessons focus primarily on riding with a few minutes spent brushing or feeding treats. $120 per month is due at the first lesson of each month. Riders ride at the same time each week in the indoor round pen.
Tuesday's
4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Taken.
4:30 to 5:00 p.m.
5:00 to 5:30 p.m.
5:30 to 6:00 p.m.

It's been a minute since I shared an update.
We are still here. We are still riding.
Dally, Duo, and Valentine all have riders for the off season. Liberty is getting rounder and rounder. Patriot is filling out nicely and it will be my winter project to get him ready to show next spring. Bassie is patiently awaiting snow for sleigh ride season. We have two nice horses boarded who I enjoy giving pats to. And Crackle the mini is still running the show.

Titan

Congratulations is due to Titan's owner. He went back home today after completing his retraining. I liked this mustang from the minute I scrambled on him. He is one of those rare finds.

Oakley warm up

Warm up. We are a ways into Oakley's first ever month of training. It goes by fast! Peabody took quite a few chunks out of Oakley's booty not long ago that you can now have an upclose view of 🙄 if like two of the horse's I have here could get along, that'd be great.
