Updates, lost dog (Dax) is recovered and returned to his owner. He was over 500 miles away from, again underlining the importance of chipping your pet. He was most likely stolen from his home and lost for over a year.

The kind lady that had him had found him kenneled in an empty rental home, malnourished. She took him in and nursed him back to health giving him a great home and was still willing to give him back to the original owner.

She was as heartbroken as could be, the original owner was happy to get him back as you can imagine.

We were so touched by how this kind lady rescued Dax, and was still willing to gi e him back, we are going to do something extra special for her; this type of kindness has to be rewarded.

P.S. we were doing all this while traveling from Texas to Oregon on vacation, it all worked as it should.

I have a great story for y'all, I apologize for the long post. Please share

We chip all our pups w AKC reunite just in case a pup was lost or stolen. We had our first instance of that system working.

A Duffington pup that is 3 yrs old went missing assumed stolen from the Brownsville area. We got a call from AKC saying he was checked in at Edgefield Animal Clinic, a vet clinic in Dallas, Tx. Roughly 500 miles the pup's home.

We called the animal clinic, and at first, they were extremely unhelpful and wouldn't cooperate with us at all. I mentioned that this is an expensive pup that has a rightful owner. He is effectively stolen property, and the owner would file a police report to recover his pup. They were rude, saying, " we would have to do what we had to do." Even after talking to a manager, they were not helpful. They must have rethought that because, about 10 minutes later, they then called us back and released the information.

We made contact with the current person who has the dog in Dallas, and he said he would be willing to reunite the pup with the rightful owner. Right now, we are waiting for that to play out. This is just a note to let y'all that chipping your pets is a great choice. Please like and share -

We have started calling this Lil boy opossum... he always sleeps on his back...lol he is 11 weeks old and ready for a good family.

We still have two Lil pups left, one liver and white female, one black and white male. They are 11 weeks, all shots deformed, akc chipped and ready for a forever home.
