When our fosters discover nommy Oat hay.
Jet has a lot of nervous or anxious energy so chewing is a healthy diversion
New behavioral foster bunny, Jet has arrived. When bunnies are returned to the shelter or rescue from which they were adopted, they may need a reset. So as one of our shelter partnership missions, we strive to provide additional support for the buns who may not thrive in the shelter setting, especially in a kennel.
Forgot to post about our Shelter enrichment re-up last weekend. Also brought our behavioral foster Oreo back after4+ months. Hoping this time she scores a Forever Home of her dreams. Brought the Guinea pigs enrichment treat bags, new toys & re-did their enclosure hanging toys. Same for buns. Hanging DIY toys replenished, brought ample new toys, a couple stuffies & 6 new carriers for Bunny adoptions. Made sure Oreo goes home with 10# of her fav Oat hay, her Ombre bed, a super deluxe stuffy & a proper Hair Buster grooming tool! The shelter program support & our partnership means the world to our little grass roots rescue
Proper use of a soft mesh fishing net (hopefully won’t cause injury or entanglement like a string net might)
Netting bunnies requires a rescue learning curve & should not be attempted by most people. Practice makes perfect
Can we get a Hallelujah & $5 for each celebratory cheer that we just reunited a feral Mom & her two babies after 2+ weeks? We had no choice but to capture this family separately. If you like this and want to show support please:
PayPal.Me/bunnywunder a $5 donation which will go to Bunny greens for the foster home. Thank you from Goldie, Noodle & Matcha. We are pretty stoked
ShooFly was our 1st rescue of 2023. She got her 1st RHDV2 vaccination and is 5 -weeks away from being fully quarantined & full immunity. This rabbit also suffered from a Botfly & aborted a litter of 6 babies the night after being rescued. She has been through a lot and is still a sweet girl.
Rescue # 2 Taro is also safe & was the Eye flush baby in our previous post.

What is a shelter partnership?
We strive to support, embrace, educate & help to build a stronger & cohesive small animal program with the local NSPCA.
Having fostered bunnies dating back to 2013 for the Nevada SPCA (under a very suspect shelter director with bizarre ideas of being No Kill) I managed to never get kicked out. There is a fine line to tread while trying to improve things for bunnies & other smalls at municipal shelters. Rescues don’t often mesh well and the lines of communication between shelter staff & rescues are often strained.

And our latest donation of 17 brand new carriers for Bunnies to go home in. A cardboard box carrier is not ok with us.
Thank you to our friends at Rockin 4 Rescues and 3rd Reef Divers 'n Pets for donating carriers to help with our mission
Zinnia 1/13/2023
Sanctuary rabbits in our care can be costly to our rescue. This girl ran up a $1000 vet bill this week. They are the unadoptable bunnies for reasons such as temperament, special/medical needs and will live their lives as part of our crew.
Zinnia 1/9/2023
Zinnia after a very sick weekend with stasis going to see Dr B. Since she was rescued in Feb 2018 from the Charleston Dumpsite and remained with us as a Sanctuary bunny for 5 years, it’s time for a round of bloodwork/labs. Zinnia made her own choice to stay although I consider her highly adoptable, she does not. Her invoice today will be at least $300, so we can definitely use some help. If you would like to donate directly to the [email protected]
(Attn Zinnia) for PayPal. Or PayPal.Me/bunnywunder (for Zinnia) to us🐰💕
Thank you
Matrix Christmas 2022
From our little Feral Bunny rescue to you & yours-Happy holidays. Matrix you a reminder that almost nothing can get a dumped bunny down. Our lifesaving work is exemplified by bunnies like Matrix, who was rescued twice and is a sanctuary bun. He came to us from
Lilly's Legacy Foundation when they needed to shut their doors and Matrix needed a new spot to lay his cute little head. As 2022 winds down, let us appreciate the resilience of every bunny that is given a second chance.

Bunny stalks kitty
Are rabbits & cats suitable friends and can they be kept together? Let us just say that supervision is a must, at all times.

Bedo 9/9/2022
One of our 3 baby boys Bedo from a litter of 6, born 8/25/2022. We managed to do 4 e-spays out of 5 pregnant female bunnies caught, but this litter was too far along.

First litter since Spring 2019
Yes, we are pro-choice and perform every complicated, emergency spay that we can. But these nuggets were too far along and a 6-pack was born yesterday (after the pregnancy vet check)!
