Hello hendersonville city and county officials isn’t this something you would like to model ??

The Yancey Humane Society is very happy to announce that we have been awarded a grant for our Fence Building Project for Yancey County Residents Living on Low Incomes. Funding for this program was provided by The Yancey Fund, an affiliate fund of The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. The Yancey Fund is an endowment created to support the charitable needs of our community.

We have funding to build approximately 8 fences and will accept applications beginning June 1, 2022. To qualify, a person or family must live in Yancey County, must own their property as opposed to renting, and must qualify financially by being a recipient of governmental assistance or have a demonstrated financial need. Applications will be available at the Humane Society, the Barkin’ Basement Resale Store and online at www.yanceyhumanesociety.org A link to the application will be posted on our page and our website on June 1, 2022. We are extremely grateful to The Yancey Fund and the The Community Foundation of WNC for recognizing this need and awarding this funding.

New Mexico!!

Drummmrollllll.... & residents of YOU DID IT!! Last night at the Valencia County Commission meeting in support of much needed ANIMAL WELFARE revisions! Be there! the new ordinance was approved by the Commission :) This new language includes , more humane requirements for outdoor shelter, mandatory microchips & more!

There will be a grace period put into place to allow residents who currently have chained dogs to come into compliance. There will be resources available for those who need help. There will be & efforts the likes, ValCo has never seen before
