I love teaching dogs “Life Saving” behaviors such as coming when called, don’t rush out of an open door, stay in the car until I release you, stay in a designated spot when I am cooking, etc.

In this video showing Recall, there are a few things taught in order for this girl to give me the automatic sit at the end of the recall.
1. The “Sit” command was taught.
2. The recall word “Here!” needed to be paired with the action for here to understand what I wanted.
3. Putting steps 1 & 2 together so that the dog gives an automatic sit when she comes to me. I do tell her to sit at the end of her recall in this video, since sometimes she is so excited to come into me that I think she’s about to run into me. 😂
