The greatest always choose us, not the other way around. My Malibu chose me one afternoon, showed up on my front porch staring at me as I sat watching tv. She was a leftover from a litter next door and wouldn’t sell because she had a broken foot when her siblings were being sold and adopted out, but there she was claiming me as her very own. I wasn’t looking. She passed over the same bridge way too young after getting urethral cancer at about 8 years old a couple years ago, on the eve of my birthday. I truly feel your sadness and still mourn losing her to this day. I can’t imagine trying to replace her or finding a successor, but one of these days one will choose me again, maybe her spirit will come back in another vessel. I am truly sorry for your loss. 💔
