🚨 Update on the Theodore Roosevelt Park Bunnies 🚨

We’ve rescued 7 bunnies so far: Rosie, Thea, Roosevelt, Eleanor, Ivy, Caroline, and Sable. Seven are currently safe in our care, but there are at least 4 more still out there who need to be captured.

We are urgently seeking donations for their vet care and we are still looking for fosters.

Our first fundraiser of 2025 has a goal of $1,700 to cover the spaying and neutering surgeries, fecals, and post surgery meds for these bunnies. Any amount helps!

We need local, loving, indoor-only fosters to provide these bunnies with a safe and temporary space. Supplies and support are provided.

These rabbits were abandoned and left to fend for themselves.

URGENT! Help Us Save the Theodore Roosevelt Park Bunnies!🚨

We were notified about a heartbreaking situation at the Theodore Roosevelt Park trails near Fort Caroline—over ninr domestic rabbits have been abandoned near the picnic tables. While some have been captured, others remain at risk, and all desperately need help!

We’re urgently seeking foster families who can provide an indoor space, and who are local to Jacksonville Florida for easier transport to their vet appts.

We’ll provide the supplies, guidance, and support—you just provide the love!

If you can open your home to one of these bunnies or assist in rescuing those still out there, please contact us immediately.

Meet Mouse and Pricilla, our sweet bonded pair who came back to us Christmas Eve after 3 months in their adoptive home. While we do everything we can to prepare adopters for the responsibility of bunny ownership, sometimes situations change, and families realize they can’t provide the care these special animals need.

Our adoption contract requires bunnies to be returned to us if rehoming is necessary so we can ensure their next home is the right match. We’re thankful this family reached out to return Mouse and Pricilla, but we deeply hope every adopter commits to giving these little ones their forever home. 💞 Frequent transitions are tough on rabbits, and shelter life can be stressful. Some of our bonded pairs are waiting for months to years for their perfect home.

Mouse and Pricilla are ready to find their next chapter with a family who truly understands and embraces the joys and responsibilities of being bunny parents. Could you be their forever family? 🏡

If you're interested in meeting them, please contact us to learn more.

🚨 Maisie and Smudge Need Your Help! 🚨

These sweet bunnies have been waiting for their forever home for far too long and are starting to feel the stress of rescue life. They need room to stretch their legs, binky, and zoom like the happy bunnies they are meant to be. 🏰 A castle to hide in, toys to keep them busy, and the love of a patient family would mean the world to them.

Though shy at first, Maisie and Smudge enjoy gentle pets, are kind souls, and are great with their litterbox. Let’s find these two the loving home they deserve! 💕

This is very important information for any bunny owner to know. Unfortunately, we've had to perform the bunny heimlich on multiple bunnies. If you want to see our last experience caught on our camera, here is our YouTube video.

Thanks go out to Jessica Sullivan who adopted our blind rescue boy
Easter for sending this to us. We have this posted in two areas of the rescue just in case. We have had two incidents with rabbits choking on their food but luckily the volunteers who were there were able to help the rabbits.
This information is life saving and should as posted only be used as a last resort. What is great is that Jessica gave us what to look for to make sure we use the manuaver only when absolutely necessary.
We hope you never have to use this information, but it is a life saver.
Once again we want to thank Jessica for this as well as her care and love for Easter.

We tried surprising our bunnies with a carrot snuffle mat as an early Christmas gift, but it turns out it’s not ideal for our flat-faced cutie, Theodore. He still gave it his best shot before demanding to be hand fed.

For gifts they do love, we usually stick to bunny-approved boxes like Bunnies That Lunch or Happy Bunny Club —they’re always a hit! 🎁

What are your bunnies' favorite gifts? 🐇✨

Meet Olaf, one of the stray bunnies rescued from Big Talbot Island! This little guy is now neutered and ready for his forever home. He’s very gentle, full of silliness, and turning into quite the cuddle bug. Could Olaf be your perfect bunny companion?

P.S. Those are his morning pellets in front of him..not p**p 😅 He is doing great with his litterbox!

We are thrilled to announce the completion of our organic garden, a dream we started in 2023, now brought to life at the end of 2024! Thanks to the generous support of The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, this project has blossomed into a sustainable space for growth and education.

The heart of our garden is a 14x50-foot caterpillar tunnel, which will allow us to grow fresh, nutritious vegetables for our rescue rabbits year-round. We’ve already started cultivating a variety of lettuces, with herbs and many other goodies sprouting soon!

This garden is more than just a source of food; it’s a place to learn and share. Visitors will now have the chance to explore how to grow food not only for their pets but for themselves, fostering a deeper connection with sustainable living.

Thank you to everyone who made this dream possible. Here’s to many seasons of growth, learning, and delicious greens for bunnies! 🥬💚

Meet Senior Bunnies Pig and Tater!

Pig and Tater are two bonded, youthful seniors, who just joined Bebette’s Bunny Rescue as an owner surrender. Pig is 7 years old and this sweet boy is and always watching over his best friend. Tater, who turns 6 next month, is curious and social, always hopping around and exploring his favorite tunnel. They move together as a unit, and their bond is heartwarming to witness.

These sweet bunnies were waiting patiently for their turn to be accepted into the rescue since early March. They have an upcoming check-up at Exotic Bird Hospital to ensure they’re in good health. After that, they’ll be ready for adoption—or they’d love to join a foster to adopt home in the meantime!

This also highlights an important fact: we currently have about a 9-month waiting list for owner surrenders. As a small organization, we do our best to help as many bunnies as possible, but we rely on adoptions to save more lives. Every adoption is a ripple effect—it saves the bunny being adopted and creates space for another in need.

If you’re interested in fostering or adopting Pig and Tater, send me a message. 🐰🐰 Please share with your friends!

Meet Maisie & Smudge: The Sweetest Shy Pair Looking for a Forever Home!

🌟 Smudge is a gentle 10-month-old who has only ever known shelter life. Born to rescued parents, he’s the last of his family waiting for a loving home. Smudge is soft, shy, and very sweet—he’ll even come up to you for treats!

🌟 Maisie arrived as an owner surrender in May. While her previous bond didn’t work out, she found her perfect match in Smudge! Maisie is a master flopper who loves lounging in her castle. She’s also on the shy side, but her gentle nature shines through.

Together, Maisie and Smudge are a calm and loving pair who would thrive in a home where they can blossom at their own pace. Can you help us find them a forever home before the holidays? 🐇❤️
