Maple knocked her first ride right out of the park. She was super quiet, willing and soft. I try to set them up so that the first ride is simple and quiet. I don't want them upset or worried over it. I have someone in the round pen with me, who can help the horse understand what is being asked of it. Just like building blocks, I build their confidence block by block.
