Allie back in her happy place. We are so thankful she decided to come back south after graduation and come back to Southpaw. We hired Allie seasonally last year and she fit so perfectly she has been counting down the days until she was done with college and back with the pups. Everyone send Allie a happy graduation and a huge welcome back!

With tourist season coming in, unfortunately means we have to say goodbye to Melanie as her season at Southpaw has come to an end. Our resident Golden fan, she is always greeting everyone who walks through our doors with her warm smile. Melanie can still be found around town and make sure if you see her at her restaurant job, show her all of the fur baby pictures you have. She has been a wonderful asset at Southpaw and will be greatly missed. Thankfully she will still be around to visit and sneak in some puppy kisses.

Bossy girl with a big heart. Who will we have to police your sisters when you feel they are getting out of hand? Who is going to sass us when we aren't doing exactly what you want? We sure are going to miss you and your s***k. Our jobs include a lot of great loves, but also great loss. Lizzy was one of the greats. We hope you are patrolling those pups over the rainbow bridge. Over a decade ago, Carly joined our Southpaw team. She took a detour in her journey in the vet tech world after finding Southpaw and falling in love with it. She loves all of the dogs as her own and loves to watch them run and have fun. Our resident photo taker, her phone is packed with all the dogs that have filled her heart and put a smile on her face for years. It is with great pride but also some sadness, we say goodbye to Carly as she veers back onto the vet tech path. We will miss her tremendously but will never mourn when of our own goes on to follow their dreams. Join us these next few weeks in thanking Carly for all of the time and love she has put into Southpaw. She will always be a part of the Southpaw family and it is not a goodbye, but a see you later. From the bottom of our hearts Carly, thank you for all of the years, sweat, tears, pets, and p**p discussions. Feel free to share your love of Carly in the comments!

All of our dogs are important to us. However, dogs who have been with us since the beginning, hold a special place in our hearts. Being in the pet industry for many years, you don't realize that the dogs are aging alongside us, until one day, they are no longer here. Daphne was a force to be reckoned with. A sweet girl with sass to spare. She made sure all the dogs knew who was the boss. She loved to run, take a dip in the pool and then relax in the sun. Daphne was a Southpaw staple for many years but unfortunately crossed over the rainbow bridge at 15 years young. She had a full life and we are thankful to have been apart of it. We will miss you Daphne.

Not our usual content so please don't scroll. We have 2 cats that have taken up residence here at Southpaw. We are not sure If they were dumped or made their way over from a colony. They are both males and one is neutered and the other will be neutered next week. Both are very loving and not feral at all. If you have a need for a sweet snuggle bug in your life, let us know!
