These two photos showed up in my memories this morning. It was quite an experience creating the 7 Dwarfs as I only had a picture of them to go on. Making up usable patterns was definitely a challenge.
And I loved that my grandson asked if I could make him a placemat. He had a couple others that I had made.

Saved this memory from yesterday and then forgot to share! These were fun to make and after a conversation with a customer on Saturday thinking I should find my patterns and make a few. Would not be the same prices unfortunately, since sewing supplies have also increased over the past 9 years.

Had been asked about making a plastic bag holder from a kitchen towel and ended up with another request so I made up several. These 3 are what I have left at the moment available @ $10. I also made up one out of a fat quarter for my oldest sister. I hopefully will a few more for sale by next Saturday’s Farmers Market. Anyone interested in these can contact me directly if you can’t make the market.

And I just bought a couple more packs of clear bobbins. At least with those I can get down to almost empty and switch it out then. The thread left on the bobbin I then use for any basting. Works great with my Singer as I can see when the bobbin is getting low. I use the metal bobbins in my Brother and with both machines wind a bunch of bobbins with the color threads I use most. That method is working out great!

Created this 6 years ago and it still looks pretty darn good hanging on my porch. I have to dust it off when I bring it in at the end of August before I can pack it away.

Sewing is definitely a different creature then because I’ve been close to tears or in tears on a few occasions. Especially when I try to figure out how to put something together that I’ve made or found a pattern for but no directions☹️ Hit or miss and so far have eventually figured it out.

New bowl cozies added today - August 4th. My stock was getting low and I’d been asked about making some more suitable for guys (sold pretty much what I had on hand). Found some cute animal prints as well. Since sunflower prints are still a huge hit and I have sunflower print fabric on hand, I’ll be making more of these up next. Come check them out in person on Saturdays from 9 - 1 at the Hinsdale Farmers Market or feel free to message me to arrange a time to stop by the house.

The light rain my weather app said we were getting at the Farmers Market mid morning was anything but light and a mad scramble ensued to get my wares into plastic see thru storage containers I had put in my vehicle in the off chance it rained. Unfortunately even with a canopy it still rains in on top on items. All the vendors stuck it out and thankfully it stopped raining before it was time to start picking up. Now just to get everything out of my vehicle and dried out so I can repack it all back into the containers I carry it in.
Thank you to those who stopped by and supported us today.

A huge thank you to my granddaughter Kierra who came up with this idea when she was staying with me. They’ve been a big hit as people have had other ideas on how to put them to good use in addition to an ice cream cozy. And of course now there is even a pattern on Pinterest.

My stash isn’t as extensive as it once was. I was fortunate enough to be able to give wayward fabric a new home on numerous occasions and once paid a minimal amount for a lot. Over the past 15 years I’ve hardly had to buy much for fabric and fat quarters pretty much fit the bill these days. Sunflowers, bee, bird and other animal prints seem to still be most popular at the moment especially for bowl cozies.

I’m pretty sure I’ve used most things in the last 15 years and several times I have hoed out and given away a lot of stuff I knew I probably wouldn’t use. But once in a while I have come across a treasure. Just need to actually do something with it!

I know when I’m sewing by hand the time definitely goes by faster than I realize. Sewing with my machine seems to take forever though🙁
