Thanks Fox 8 News for this great story on all the hard work that the dogs and officers from Cuyahoga County Corrections Center are doing in our Spring Narcotics Detection Class.

The FOX 8 I-Team learned the Cuyahoga County sheriff is adding eight more dogs to address one of the biggest problems in the county jail — illegal drugs.

This includes 8 teams from Cuyahoga County Corrections and 1 team from Peninsula Police Department.

Excel K9 started free monthly night scenario training this month. A great start with 15 teams attending they found scenarios that challenged both the handler and the K-9. From decision making, controlled stress, loud music, gun fire, smoke, strobe lights and more. We cater to training groups and individuals. These trainings are open to all K9 teams no matter where or how you train. Our team of Police, Special Forces Military, Sport Trainers are here to support you to be successful.

Congratulations K-9 Cocoa from the Brecksville Broadview Heights Schools on becoming a certified therapy dog. This was a one year project that started with Superintendent Joelle Magyar wanting a therapy dog in the schools to provide support for her students and staff. We met Brecksville Mayor Jerry N. Hruby and then
selected a puppy for the project, providing all training at the schools for the two amazing staff handlers, Ms. McCauley and Ms Schwertle. They are the official caregivers/dog handlers of K-9 Cocoa at there homes and provide daily care for the therapy dog, Cocoa. They bring Cocoa to visit the students in school daily to help students feel more emotionally regulated, which creates an atmosphere where students are better able to access the curriculum. We completed several weeks board and train at our facility. This program insures success.
Great job this was truly a group effort!!!
