We specialize in hands on education and teaching compassion through action for ALL sentient species. Erin's Farm is a 33acre Nonprofit (501c3) small private forever home for animals that need a home. We are 100% donation based & all donations are tax deductible. Our animals come from legal cruelty & neglect cases, slaughterhouses, the food industry, abandonment cases & given up pets. We teach tha

t all animals lives matter & like us they are all emotional sentient beings that want to enjoy life. They don’t want to suffer or feel pain & they want to be social, to play, explore & stay with their families. Farm Animal encounters include horses, ponies, mini horses & a Clydesdale. There are happy pigs, goats, sheep, llama, alpacas, cows, patagonian maras, bunnies, donkeys, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, parrots, giant tortoises & other reptiles. Private & group visits are scheduled by appointment only. Each educational tour is 1-2 hours where you learn about animals & their individual rescue stories. Additional visiting time after the tour is available. We offer a variety of seasonal "All About Animals" kids classes, farm camp, horsemanship, art classes, continuing education classes for science teachers. In addition to the farm we have 13 acres of nature preserve & honey bees hard at work saving the planet. (no honey for sale). Love animals & nature? Then come volunteer! The animals would love some extra back rubs~! www.erinsfarm.net

🚨🐺Coyote season is here! 🐺🚨
Grateful for our giant puppies keeping everyone safe!

📢sound on 🐺!

It started as a normal afternoon as I brought fresh straw to the goat and sheep barn. It was 2:15 pm on Sunday in broad daylight and out of nowhere coyotes were a few hundred yards away in the woods.

Tsas (Zozzy) took off into the woods after them immediately, and was out of sight. (Pardon me yelling for him to come back.)

Winter & the other dogs were with me behind the fence.

The chilling coyote cries went out for a good hour, and it was pretty terrifying being that close and with them that loud. …And the fact that they weren’t stopping despite the fact that they had a pack of big dogs nearby!

It’s officially coyote breeding season so they are hungry and bold!
We’ve got donkeys and dogs on guard tonight let’s hope they stay away! For their own good!

A few weeks ago “Annie” the pony moved to the big horse barn at our second location in preparation for the colder weeks of winter ahead.

Anytime somebody new comes around. It causes lots of drama. Some of them get possessive, some of them fall in love.

Annie was rescued 2 years ago with what we thought was a broken hip. Her hip had been dislocated and left for quite some time and could not be fixed without surgery.

Luckily, surgery went well and she has recovered fantastically. She loves to prance around & show off.

Ponyman & Cocoa I think have fallen in love!

💫🚨💔Today marks the 4 yr anniversary of one of our most incredible rescue stories. Please take a moment to watch the video of baby Martin that happened exactly 4 years ago today.

He was named Martin by his rescuers because of this special day that he was born on.

Martin’s mother was a goat that was sent for slaughter despite the fact that she was heavily pregnant. The stress and torture that these animals endure before they are slaughtered is ultimately heartbreaking.

Some of this video might be hard to watch, but I beg you to watch it to honor Martin and his lost family.

This video took place in downtown Chicago on January 20, 2020. This brutality happens every week and it’s happening right now as you watch this. Hundreds of animals suffer in the bitter cold for hours before they are brutally slaughtered. Their lives wasted and forgotten, reduced to nothing but a disposable commodity.

Luckily, for Martin kind good Samaritans pulled him to his safety, kept him warm & rushed him to help giving him a chance at life & freedom, They brought him to us frozen it’s just a few hours old & we took over his care, rushing him to the ER.

After 2 weeks in the ER at Purdue University veterinary Hospital & after getting multiple blood transfusions to help with his immunity, he survived! He still lives and thrives at the farm today.

There are a million different things that we can do in our lives & small sacrifices that we can make to live our lives more compassionately and cruelty free. Suffering like this only exists because we let it.

❤️💔💫
Consider a donation today to our Emergency Veterinary Fund so that we are prepared for the next emergency like Martin, and we are able to give that life everything they need.

All donations are 100% tax deductible due to our non profit 501(c)(3) charity status.

Happy CHILLY Wishlist Wednesday!!

This week we're wishing for BUGS! What a weird thing to wish for lol! Our chickens and ducks and turkeys love mealworms and bug treats of all sorts! What a fun thing for them to forage for and keep engaged!

Heavy Duty Muck Buckets are always in style! As long as they're made THICK. The lighter plastic buckets that are more like laundry baskets break really easily!

And we've had a few questions about the extension cords - namely, how long do we need? Well, we're going with 100 feet! Sure, some may be needed a bit closer to an outlet, but the farm is a BIG place! So just in case...

We hope you guys are all staying nice and cozy!!

🐴 With the last coldest 6 - 8 weeks of winter arriving we moved our littlest ancient old man, “Shadow” (the mini horse in blue jacket) and his friend “Annie” (our Pony who had hip surgery last year) to the big horse barn.

Over there they can be a little bit warmer and be able to exercise and move around in the indoor arena and stay active during these cold weeks ahead. So if you drive by and don’t see them in their pen by the street anymore, no worries they are OK! They are just on a winter vacation!

Little Jackson Dean aka “Dean” is growing fast but is huge! He’s the biggest kid in the barn at only 2.5 yrs old! He was fascinated by seeing these horses that are just so micro mini & small!

His face is so curious & cute! 🤣

Here’s a fun flashback to our last week of Farm Camp this summer! Over the week the kids learn all sorts of things! From animal facts, to the names & heritage of some of the animals, and even do math like figuring out how much water and hay might be needed in a day!

The campers were split into teams and were allowed to “buy” helpers to their team as they competed for the bragging rights associated with being the winning team!

Let me tell you, the competition was FIERCE!
