SUCCESS!
As we struggle to find homes for several long term furry friends, we have to celebrate the small wins. Toby and Sir Woofington are thriving in their new homes. New pet parents share the photos and updates with us and some days it is what keeps up going.
Thank You for adopting these two and creating them a new furever home.
If anyone would like to donate any baked goods they can be dropped off on September 14th by 10am, please.
* All proceeds from the hot dogs, snowcones, bake sale and raffles will go to Officer Wilmeths family to help with funeral arrangements.
As the Hobbs Schools celebrate attendance awareness it was career day! We have a new intern Veterinary Assistant Kendra Ledezma from Heizer Middle school.
It is great to see the community reach out with interest in a range of careers from our various departments within the City of Hobbs.
The Community Services Administrative office has moved to 702 N Grimes and we would like you to visit us!
The department will be hosting a town hall meeting at the Hobbs Animal Adoption Center Sept. 12th from 5:30pm to 7pm. Meet with staff from the adoption center, Code Enforcement Officers and Animal Control Officers. Ask questions about ordinances or bring your ideas about what resources you would like see in the community. Come and go event open to the public.
What better way to celebrate Superhero Day than with the students at Booker T. Washington School and our superhero Muttens teaching dog safety basics. Thank You to the teachers, students, and Lea County Humane Society board.

We are at a crucial point in the stay for Bruno, Gandolf, Blueberry, and Beatle. These 4 long-term furry friends need your help! All have been tested with other dogs and can be in homes with other pets (unknown cats), and children. They will take time to decompress in their new homes as they have all been in our care for a lengthy duration.
Could you open up your home to a new pet?

Training is often about more than just getting away, realizing that other organizations are going through the same growing pains as you are, and class. It’s about bonding, team building and making new relationships with individuals who can help you get through the tough times ❤️🐾

Meet cupcake! She is one of our long term furry friends that need a home to call her own. Cupcake would be best in a home with dogs her own size and rowdy play style. She enjoys playing with toys, pup cups, long walks in the park, and goofing around in the outside play yards. Female- Approximately 2-3 years old
Hi I’m Mistletoe, and I have been in the Adoption Center facility since early December. And although I enjoyed spending Christmas with my fellow puppy mates it just wasn’t as good as celebrating the holidays with a family of my own. I get so excited in the kennel when people visit or when I get to go outside for play group that I have split the tip of my tail. In the kennels I just can’t seem to get my tail to heal up. I try to be less wiggly and not so full of excitement but I don’t believe that will land me a new family. I am in dire need of a foster or permanent home so my tail will heal up appropriately. I would much appreciate children to play and cuddle while we eat popcorn and watch Bluey. Please stop by and visit Mistletoe to see if she would be a great fit for your family ❤️🐾
Interested in fostering? These sweeties could use a temporary crash pad for about 2-3 weeks. We are willlong to break them up into smaller groups 😊 * supplies provided Please come directly to the facility for information!
Family over football? Need someone to cheer for team on with you? Give a new furever friend a chance. Best thing- they don’t care if your team wins or loses so no awful bets you might lose 🐾🦴🐾 OPEN TODAY 11am-2pm
