Name: Breckenridge
Age: 2 years old
Breed: Shih Tzu

Breckenridge is looking for a home that will work on building her confidence and give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. She is such a wonderful, deserving dog who is ready to shine! She just needs some extra love and patience. She would love someone who is mostly a homebody and lives in a low-activity household where there is not much commotion. Breckenridge has never been in a home before prior to her foster home. This being said, she needs a patient owner who will help build her confidence and continue to socialize her. She is learning how to walk on a leash and getting better with practice!

Breckenridge may be shy at first greeting, but once she is comfortable with you, she turns into an absolute love bug who will follow your every move! She will be your loyal best friend and snuggle bug. She is easygoing, kind and curious. She is happiest when she is outside! She loves exploring and sniffing.

Kids: Since she is timid at times, above the age of 10

Dogs: Yes!

Cats: Yes, she loves her feline friends!

Crate Trained: She will bark for a few minutes but then settles down and does nicely

House Trained: Going well! She will begin to pace when she needs to be let outside. With proper routine, she rarely has an accident.

As the days get colder and snow arrives indoor spots for pups and their PAWrents are key to having some fun in the winter! ❄️ Distilleries can be a great spot to make new friends and try some local spirits. Many are dog friendly both inside and outside with heated and/or covered patios for the winter months. While many do not serve food which makes them dog friendly some have food trucks that visit and you can always bring your own or order delivery from a local restaurant nearby. So if you are looking to share a cocktail with a friend or just hang out with your pup check out ’s curated list of spots for a cool cocktail! 🐶 🍹

Guest RePAWter Pablo and his mom from .and.howl spent New Years Day in at The Village Greene.
Smithville is dog friendly, and has 2 really nice pet shops. Bakery & Boutique of Smithville and Woof Woof Barkery. Alao a one of Pablo’s mom’s favorite shops welcomes dogs. There are lots of shops and restaurants as well as a Carousel, Train and Paddle Boats Historic Smithville is host to over 50 free weekend events including Oktoberfest, car shows, children’s festivals and a holiday light show on the lake. Please note the train and Carousel are close in Jan. Feb. and March and the official reopen date is Easter weekend. Historic Smithville is located just minutes from Atlantic City. Make sure to bring water for your dog. Ample parking.

Name: Lucky Lady
Breed: 3 years old
Age: Pitbull Shar Pei mix

Ready to meet Lucky Lady? She is a take charge kinda gal but also cherishes the quiet moments flopped on your bed under a blanket. She’s an old soul at only 3 years. Found on the street (not her fault), her devoted Foster Mom has reinforced her confidence and made her shine. Loyalty is her middle name. And she answers “yes!” to the treats you carry in your hand on walks.

Lucky Lady has doggy friends, but would do best being the only dog in her house. She has cohabitated successfully with two other dogs but both her foster parents agree that this certified canine good citizen will flourish best in a home where Lucky has more time to enjoy life as an only child.

Training: Lucky is very smart and knows stay, wait, heel, come, sit, down and off. She does get protective of her special items and has been working on sharing with her foster mom. She will need to go to a family who can provide her lots of structure and continue with her training to make her the best pup she can be!

Home Recommendation: Lucky had a very rough journey after being alone as a stray and ending up in a shelter. Due to her past, she will need a home that will provide her the perfect combination of structure and enrichment. She would do best being the only animal in the home and with older kids who will respect her boundaries. Her family must have rescue or large breed dog experience.

• House Trained: Yes! She will go to the door when she needs to be taken outside
• Leash Manners: She walks beautifully on leash and does not pull!

Name: Waltz
Breed: Dachshund
Age: 6 years old

Waltz is a very sweet, playful man. He would love a home without small children, as he is a tiny lovebug. He would also thrive in a home with another pup to show him the ropes.

Waltz’s adorable playing and hopping around will continually put a smile on your face! He gets along with all humans and dogs that cross his path. He loves exploring his surroundings, but also enjoys a good lap snuggle.

Crate Trained: Yes! Waltz enjoys his crate.

House Trained: Working on it! He does his business outside, however, may mark inside.

Leash Manners: Waltz is working on it! He gets better everyday at walking on the leash and loves exploring inside and outside

Name: Regina
Breed: Great Dane
Age: 4 months old

Regina is a gentle giant and would do best in a home who has XL dog breed experience. She is very young and will need a family who is home more often than not to spend time training and socializing her.

Regina is a sweetheart and aims to please. Regina is happiest in people and canine company. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle and be pet. Despite her size, she thinks she is a lap dog! She will cover your face in kisses and greet you with a wagging tail.

Regina is working on puppy manners and basic obedience. She has already mastered sit, come, down, and is working on paw! She will need continued training to help her become the best behaved dog she can be! Since she has never been in a home prior to being rescued, she is working on her leash training and how to go up and down stairs.

Kids: Above the age of 10 due to her size
Dogs: Yes! She loves to play with other dogs
Cats: Unknown

Guest RePAWter Ashoka and her mom from headed to Carson Street in Pittsburgh, Pa. Carson Street is home to one of Pittsburgh’s most famous attractions the Duquesne Incline. Here you can take an amazing ride with beautiful views of the city and it’s dog friendly! At the top there is a cute gift shop and observation deck. You and your pup can also walk around near the incline trolly. There are many restaurants and bars at the top of the hill. For those that don’t know Pittsburgh is a really hilly city and fun fact Pittsburgh has the most bridges in the world beating out Venice with 446 bridges . The cost for the incline is $2.50 per person and dogs are free! You must bring cash and have exact change. If you don’t have cash on hand they will let you do an I owe you and you can utilize the ATM at the top in the gift shop. Parking is at the bottom of the incline off Carson street , it’s a dirt lot with parking meters. 🐶 🚎

loves a good dog friendly holiday market! Pups are out shopping today 12/17/2023 at in Hoboken, NJ. You can find the market under the Viaduct at 1401 Adams Street from 11 am to 4 pm. Today there are 80+ vendors including Doggie Photos with the Grinch, a DJ with holiday music, food trucks, hot cocoa, donuts and of course some dog friendly shopping stops! Dogs must be leashed and make make note to have their PAWrents stop at the following booths for dog friendly fun:

Our Philly area Guest RePaWters sure are enjoying Wagging Wednesdays at in Philadelphia. Every Wednesday pups are allowed to walk through the light display. Stella and her mom from sure did enjoy looking at beautiful lights, listening to Christmas music, shopping the vendors, sipping Hot Cocoa and watching ice skaters and snow tubers! Dogs must be leashed and Tinseltown is open through January 1, 2024. Check their website for details!

Guest RePAWter Pablo and his mom from .and.howl took a stroll through Rutgers Gardens located in New Brunswick, NJ. This 180 acre botanical garden is open year round. It’s also free of charge, closed on Mondays only and dog friendly. In the warmer months on Fridays they host . So if you haven’t been to Rutgers Gardens with your pup, definitely take the time to check it out. It is gorgeous in the spring and summer, but it’s also a great spot in the winter especially for hiking. There are plenty of trails including a bamboo forest trail and a trail along the water. Restrooms are available when you first pull into the gardens along with plenty of parking. Hours vary depending on the season so check before going. Additionally, they hold events by the log cabin.

Guest RePAWter Loki and his PAWrents from have been up against Mother Nature and her shenanigans the last few weekends and haven’t gotten many of their adventures in lately. However, they did get to a great local spot in Philly. One of their top favorite spots is Hilltown Tavern , up in Roxbourough/Manayunk area. This Irish tavern has tons of outdoor tables on their patio, but when the weather is bad the attached tent really shines. They have a space heater in there too for the cold winter months and they LOvE dogs! Bowls and treats are at the ready and a very kind waitress-hooman once slipped Loki some whipped cream, so he makes sure we check on them almost everyday. Looks like they also have some great Winter themed cocktails and delicious food! 🐶☘️ 🍺 🍔

Name: Swiss Roll
Breed: Pointer Mix
Age: 10 months old

Swiss Roll is an amazing dog, that can fit into many types of homes! He loves to be with his person/family. He loves couch snuggles, car rides, hikes, trips to Home Depot, Farmer’s Markets, etc! He is happy go lucky, and wants to be a part of it all. Swiss Roll would do best with kids 10 & up, as he is still young himself, and wants to do what young puppies do - whether that is some wrestling, or being a little mouthy while he plays. He is gentle when he plays, however, he is growing and can accidentally knock a smaller child over when playing. Swiss Roll loves all dogs! He definitely wants to play with a pup he lives with. He is learning to give space with an older dog, or a dog who might not want to play all the time, but Swiss Roll is a young pup who does enjoy a buddy. It is not mandatory for Swiss Roll to have a dog sibling however.
Personality: Swiss Roll is so sweet, cuddly, loyal and smart! He absolutely loves to snuggle up as close as possible, when sitting on the couch. He loves to shower you with kisses, and is very attentive to his person. Where you are is where this kid wants to be! Swiss Roll loves food! Being that he will do anything for a treat, he is a very fast learner. Swiss Roll is a true Pointer in nature and will watch birds and small animals diligently, as he “points” towards them. Due to Swiss Rolls amazing pointing abilities, it is not safe for him to be in a home with Cats, Birds, or other small pets. He needs to be active and have stimulation, but he also is a happy couch potato too! He only needs short spurts of activity to satisfy his body and mind, daily.

Name: Suzie Q
Breed: Mini Poodle
Age: 4 years old

Suzie Q is a certified lover girl! She is so gentle and wouldn't hurt a fly. She is such a sweetheart and loves to be close to you, but she's still figuring out the whole trust thing. She will come up and give you a kiss and run away with uncertainty. When she starts to warm up to you, she'll literally melt in your arms. She loves to snuggle with soft toys and likes to play chase with you. She's still learning how to be a love bug, and when she starts to trust you, she'll sleep by your side. She recently discovered toys and likes soft and squeaky toys. She must go home with another dog to help show her the ropes, a low key fur sibling would be best and kids above the age of 13 since she will need a quiet home to relax.

Since Suzie Q has had little socialization before coming to WISE due to her past life, she needs a patient, understanding family who will work on her training and socialization to help boost her confidence. She has never been in a home prior to being saved, so she is working on how to walk on a leash and go up and down stairs. She is looking for a family to show her the good things in life that a dog should experience!

Guest RePAWters Ziggy and Toad from .ziggy.wid.it are making their first appearance on . Their PAWrents brought them on a vacation to the Kimpton Palomar in Philadelphia, PA. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of center city. It is a short walk to Rittenhouse Square and . Not only is the hotel overly accommodating to the dogs - but they cater to them. They brought up dog beds, dog bowls and greeted us with a doggie charcuterie board upon arrival. The dogs are allowed in the lobby and the front desk mentioned they could seat us in the lobby and serve us from their restaurant should we want to dine there. Dogs can not dine in the restaurant (makes sense!) The hotel holds a happy hour from 5-6 with wine for the guests and they brought down doggie beer for the dogs. We loved our stay! These two handsome boys are incredibly excited for a return visit!

Guest RePAWter Asoka and her mom from went to light walk in south Philly located at FDR park by the eagles stadium. Dogs are welcome on Wednesdays only. Parking is at the Nova Care Center and costs $12.00. It’s about a one block walk to the entrance. Upon entry you can have your photo taken by a green screen for a holiday photo. The light trail is small but had some cool light exhibits , they also had a vendor village. Ashoka’s mom enjoyed a hot chocolate and Ahsoka a treat box form . Pups are also welcome to take their photo with Santa. Tinseltown also offers an ice skating rink and a giant slide (humans only).

Indoor dog friendly fun alert! In the heart of Rutgers county, located in Edison, NJ was a new dog-friendly brewery for Guest RePAWter Poe from and his PAWrents! The local atmosphere here was warming. From the staff to the fellow patrons; Poe enjoyed meeting everyone. Delicious beer, good people and great dogs is what this world & brewery are all about! Stop by to try one of their more than 12 beers. Looks like even have some holiday themed beers. The brewery holds special events like their upcoming Barks & Brews on 12/17 (details in the post) with food trucks and a visit from Santa. While they don’t serve food daily you are more than welcome to order from local restaurants for delivery to your bar stool or bring your own. Dogs are more than welcome here at all times!

Name: Franklin
Breed: Dachshund
Age: 7 years old

Franklin is looking for a home that will work on building his confidence and give him the time he needs to come out of his shell. He is such a wonderful, deserving dog who is ready to shine! He just needs some extra love and patience. He must go home with another dog to help show him the ropes! He may not engage in play, but he would love a buddy to take naps with.

After spending his whole life in a cage, used over and over for breeding, he is looking for a loving home who will teach him that the world is a good place. He is slowly learning the good things about being a dog. He loves spending time outside and hanging out with his doggy foster sibling. Franklin has never been walked on a leash and is still learning. However, he loves to be outside and explore everything! He will sniff whatever his nose can reach! When he thinks you aren't looking, his fun personality comes out and he can be found rolling around on his back having the best time. He is very shy and gets nervous when you go near him or try to pet him, but he does let you pet him and loves treats! Franklin also enjoys going on adventures! His foster parents take him everywhere, and he even does well in the car.

Franklin's crate is his safe place. He relaxes in it during the day and sleeps in it through the night. Once Franklin gets in his routine, he is fully house trained. He might have an occasional accident as he adjusts but he is doing great with going outside.

Poe and his PAWrents have been here before so they can vouch for their delicious cocktails and awesome atmosphere. While they do not serve food they do host food trucks on weekends and you are also welcome to BYOF or get delivery from some really amazing restaurants in the area. They also host events including dog meetups and a host of other events. Additionally, they have an outdoor patio for use for warmer weather days. If you want a Old Fashioned, a Earl Grey Gin Cocktail or a Dog treat, corgi spirits has you covered! 🐶🥃
