Just a heads up Corallus batesii
- DO NOT HAVE ANY. Just a heads up as we occasionally have people ask about them.

A few (around 7ish) wild (sounds like all males)
Amazon basin emerald tree boas Corallus batesii have recently came into the U.S.

"wholesale" they're 8-10k so most likely higher on the public market.
If you're looking , keep an eye out πŸ‘

again just a heads up , we do NOT have any.

Have had some people ask about ventilation in the growout tents.
(easy to show before they go in)

Sure there is multiple ways...
Here's what we use.

4" pvc soffit vents with pvc screens.
They fit/tie right in πŸ‘

On a few others (to try to contain fruit flies)
We pulled out the pvc screen ..
Cut screen type metal filter material to fit , put the pvc screen back to hold it all and keep animals off of the metal.

NO idea how the vents or even tents hold up on snakes. Have only been using ours for lizards and frogs.

Also have NOT tried on desert or low humidity reptiles.

Started setting up some horizontal grow tents Plan on using for frogs and small lizards.

Plants just might not be for me 🫣
Grabbed a few more plant lights to see if they help.

Have a FEW doing "ok" but most are definitely not thriving.

Crazy reptiles and fish are soooo much easier then plants.

Airplants do fine , most bromeliads do ok for me beyond that , na . Ferns, grasses , trees 🀐 Hopefully that changes and some of the new setups fill out as the animals in them mature.

few growouts

(these were camcorder to webtv I think around 97)
these 2 "species" have both been shipped to us in recent years as the same.

not sure I'm not a fan of new classifications or the way they're exported πŸ€” or both.

had these in the gallery but wanted them easier to grab for some discussions.

Looking like no shipments this week, weather just sucks 🀫

Anyone interested in caiman lizards ..
stay tuned
or let us know ..

Considering getting another group in πŸ‘

Will check with wholesale customers via email tonight .

Considering getting a few more for here, so we don't end up spending a few years growing out 2 of the same s*x .

They come to us as farmed babies.
They will be uns*xed.

See our other posts if you're wondering about feeding them.

Won't happen for at least a week - Forcast calls for a cold blast starting tomorrow.

Pic- one we held back guarding his baby clams 😜

lots of messages about problems or past problems with caiman lizards (not from us).

We do NOT use or recommend canned cat food. I don't know if that's the problem but it's a common thing mentioned .

(tried cat food on other things years ago , seemed to make smell 100 times worse at bathroom time)

yes - ours are active (half the day)
when not active they sleep under moss.
yes - ours are growing

we keep them about 84 degrees with high humidity (75-85%)
water bowl is big enough for them to get in but not huge (yet)
we use under tank heat (helps keep humidity up)
they have Zoomed 10.0 uvb half the day.
basking spot half the day (don't see them basking much)

ours eat
a small # of insects
(they ignore them most of the time)
canned oysters
raw shrimp
raw fish fillets
chopped fresh oysters
canned crab meat
crab leg pieces
canned snails
a FEW pieces of banana, strawberry , mango - few days a week.
some live snails
twice a week they get calcium powder on their food.
randomly (I forget) they get mineral all on their food.

doubt our feeding is "perfect" but it's seemed to work for a few years.

subject to change - if we think something needs adjusted, added or removed it is.

none left for sale - right now
expect more shortly.

watching the weather ...trying to reschedule a few shipments πŸ‘first day I could get out so haven't rushed.
