Canine parvovirus is one of the most deadly and contagious viruses impacting dogs and is especially prevalent in young puppies. The mortality rate for canine parvovirus is as high as 91% when left untreated and there has been no medical treatment for Parvo – until now. With enthusiastic results, zero dogs died in an efficacy study when treated with the USDA conditionally approved Elanco Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody. Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody is the first and only USDA-conditionally approved monoclonal antibody (mAb) treatment that targets canine parvovirus (CPV).

This treatment is already helping animals around the country, and now we have it available to us at Trinity Animal Hospital.

Please visit https://my.elanco.com/us/parvovirus for more information. Above text taken from "Elanco Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody Survivor Story Fact Sheet" on the Eland website.

Pets can’t advocate for their needs like us humans can, and many owners fail to recognize signs of osteoarthritis (OA), often chalking it up to pets “slowing down with age.” OA is common in dogs and cats ages six and up, so to help champion their health, we’re sharing the key signs of this degenerative joint disease so that you know when it’s time to seek veterinary support.

If your pet is...
• Struggling to climb up or down stairs
• Having trouble jumping up or down
• Slow to rise from a resting position
• Lagging behind on walks or during play
. . you should discuss these concerns with us. The good news is highly effective treatments exist to help manage the chronic pain associated with OA and increase their mobility. With the right pain management, your pet can get back to being themselves again! To learn more about OA and treatment options, visit: https://www.thrivepetcare.com/be- their-champion

We get it: when your pet is itchy, you start to scratch, too! The good news is your pet doesn’t have to live with incessant itchiness. Learn to spot the signs, then book a visit so that together, we can discover the cause and explore options for long-lasting relief, like:

Cyptopoint®: an injectable therapy that provides 4 to 8 weeks of allergy relief with a single in-office dose. 1 Plus, for a limited time, get $25 off when you buy 2 doses of Cytopoint.

This week at our technician meeting, we had a relaxation and crafting moment. These monthly tech meetings are ways for our technicians to learn, grow and take ownership of what we do at TAH. Often, this looks like education on the importance of prevention, or medication calculations. This month was all about connecting with your teammates. We painted rocks to be displayed outside the hospital, had tons of treats, and had relaxation music on for the entire time. Our fantastic Kelly organized it all! She crafted such a safe space for productive and uplifting conversation. Kelly wants to shout out her entire team - ‘I am proud of my coworkers and love working with them.’ We love you too, Kelly!

Here at Trinity, we are committed to our team’s personal growth, as well as honing our professional skills. In order to honor that commitment, we had a seminar with Sarina Manifold, MSSW, LCSW who is a Veterinary Social Worker specializing in addressing the challenges that arise for veterinary professionals and the human-animal relationships we experience. She held this seminar to teach us more about managing the stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue, as well as ways to communicate more effectively during difficult times. While this was a serious topic, we also know how valuable it is to enjoy our special (and limited) times together as a hospital, so of course we had some popcorn and cotton candy since it’s always a party when we are together! 🤗
