Meet Rapunzel - a 7 year old princess we had the honor of pulling into the rescue. To say she landed in the perfect foster home with Erin would be an understatement.
When Rapunzel arrived at the shelter as a stray she was skin and bones. Erin got straight to work cooking up her farm fresh eggs for Rapunzel, and the changes in her coat and weight have been remarkable.
We suspect Rapunzel was a bait dog, as she is covered in healed bite wounds, and is missing part of her jaw. But Erin does everything she can to make Rapunzel feel like the pretty princess that she is!
In her day to day life, Erin is a small business owner, a mom, a chicken herder & has two dogs of her own. Erin says that helping dogs is her calling, and that Pawfect Match is the perfect organization to foster with because it gives her the freedom to care for the dogs in her home as if they are one of her own.

It has been just over two months since our first wave of animals leaving Western Carolina due to Hurricane Helene arrived. Many of the animals have been fortunate enough to find their forever homes - but these 6 still remain with us here at Pawfect Match. Our greatest desire for all of our fosters is for them to find their forever homes, but I think we are rooting for these guys a little extra given what they have already had to survive in their lives. Peyton, Carson & Wrenn are doing so good under the care of the excellent veterinary team at South Robeson Veterinary Hospital. Tomorrow, they are being discharged to continue their healing journey in the comfort of a foster home. Their personalities are starting to shine through and we are so relieved that their treatment worked and that these pups will go on to have normal and thriving lives!In total the cost of treatment for the three pups totaled $7,500. On Tuesday, November 19th, Pawfect Match was tasked with taking in 45 toy & mini poodles from puppy mill. These dogs spend their lives in filth, and came to us covered in fleas and mats. They are terrified of their new surroundings and need time and love to come out of their shells. While we were able to take in all of the dogs from this rescue, it does leave the rescue in a strained position as it is a major hit to our resources.
