Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary is a 501c3 that provides a safe haven for animals with no other home or shelter. We prepare animals for adoption by providing respite, rehabilitation and socialization. For those animals whose chances of adoption are reduced due to age, medical or emotional issues, Hallie Hill provides a loving Forever Home with the proper shelter, nutrition and medical care. We can’t

change an animal’s past, but we can rewrite their future. Hallie Hill helps Charleston to achieve the status of a No-Kill Community by working with local shelters and rescues to take in dogs that might not get adopted due to age, medical or behavioral issues. Hallie Hill has over 30 acres of land with large enclosures for dogs to live and play. Our facility features a pond for swimming, dog houses with straw and heat lamps, bedding, and individual pools to help keep animals comfortable.

For , we're spotlighting a few of the sweet faces your donations will be helping: Meet Knuckles 🥹

Knuckles is one of the elder statesmen of Hallie Hill. His original owner passed away, and after being passed from family member to family member, he was surrendered to us when they could no longer care for him. At 15 years old, Knuckles has some understandable ailments, such as arthritis. He also has some skin and eye issues that we are currently treating. Knuckles is not neutered, and at this point in his life it may not be necessary. We are consulting with a second vet to make that decision.

We love our seniors at Hallie Hill and will happily have Knuckles live here as long as he wants. However, if the perfect home finds him, we would be thrilled for Knuckles to join a loving forever home. You gift on Giving Tuesday helps provide senior medical care for animals like Knuckles. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to shelter resident Nana (pictured here napping a few years ago). 🤍

Hallie Hill's sanctuary model means that every animal that passes through our doors has a home for the rest of their life if they are not adopted. Our residents get medical care, food, shelter, exercise, socialization, and so much love for as long as they are here, whether that's a week or a lifetime. And sometimes, we have to usher our residents over the rainbow bridge when their time comes. It never gets easier.

Nana was an owner surrender whose opinionated hound bark could be heard near and far. We are honored to have given her a safe, loving place to spend her last few years. She will be very missed. 🌈

For this year, we're highlighting a few of the special animals that your donations will be helping. Meet Bailey! 🌸

This lovable scamp is under a year old and proudly patrols the Hallie Hill office. She came to us from an unfortunate hoarding situation and was covered in fleas. In addition to the original flea issue, Bailey is also allergic to some plants and molds, which has led to skin challenges. We are working with a dermatologist to help get her on the right combination of medicine and treatment to help clean her right up.

She is a playful kitten, often hopping on the laps of the Hallie Hill team to “help” them work, and we are hopeful to get her adopted out into a new home where she can bring smiles and joy, just as she has done for us. Your support on Giving Tuesday helps animals like Bailey get the treatment they need to live their healthiest lives.

The residents of Seabrook Island recently sponsored a Doggie Pool Party to benefit Hallie Hill! All donations went straight to their doggie cousins at the sanctuary. Now that's how you spend a warm Lowcountry fall day! 💦

At the sanctuary, we love and respect the native wildlife that sometimes wanders into our cat and dog enclosures. Whenever possible, we relocate these critters for their safety and the safety of our sanctuary residents. Take a look at some of the visitors we've relocated: armadillos, opossums, lizards, turtles, birds, snakes and more! 👀🦎

There are specific residents at the sanctuary that we just can't figure out why they get overlooked. 💔 Our sweet Clayton is one of them. He's been at the sanctuary way too long, for being such an outgoing boy. Clayton is one happy dog whose tail is always wagging. ☺️ He’s up for any adventure and is always ready for a game of fetch but definitely appreciates his downtime after a fun romp. 🐾 Clayton has developed a fear of thunderstorms and has been having a hard time lately. When we know a storm is coming, we will move him into our barn, where he feels secure. Clayton has bruised his face digging under his cabin to hide from the impending weather. So, before this loveable goofball turns 8 years old, we’d love to find him a home of his own where he can be more relaxed and enjoy feeling secure and loved. 🤍🤎 ➡️ If you're interested in adopting Clayton, please fill out an application at halliehill.com.

Sniffaris enriches the dog going on walks and its kennel mate, who may be a little afraid of humans. Porter has been going on sniffaris for a few months, which he loves. He jumps up and down for our volunteers and is so happy to see them. Blossom, Porter's kennel mate, is learning through him that people aren't so bad. She no longer barks at volunteers in their enclosure and takes treats from their hands. 🐶 🐾 ❤️
