✨️About me‼️✨️
My name is Sarah. Since I was born, I have always had an animal by my side. My family always had cats and dogs. As I got older, I started to get animals of my own. Cats, hedgehogs, hamsters, flying squirrels, chickens, sugar gliders, goats, pigs, turkeys, chickens, ducks, rabbits, geese... the list goes on.
I started to rescue animals. I began bottle-feeding orphaned kittens and rescuing dogs. I learned a lot from these experiences and I learn more with each animal that I rescue. I've rescued severely emaciated, traumatized, abused, neglected, and fear-aggressive dogs. I've worked hoarding cases and removed over 60 cats from a single home. Through all of this, I have learned so much about reading animals' behavior and predicting their reactions.
After high school, I started working at a daycare and boarding facility. Here I learned valuable lessons about communication between dogs. I did a lot of grooming and learned tricks about grooming fearful animals.
When I started college, I began pet and farm sitting to allow myself to focus more on my schooling. I instantly fell in love with it. I picked up multiple jobs a day and I had planned to keep pursuing them. Unfortunately, in 2020 Covid stopped people from traveling and I lost most of my clients due to travel bans and lockdown.
I began to look for other jobs and found the perfect one at a shelter. There, I got even more passionate about rescuing, rehabilitating, and spaying and neutering animals. I learned SO many valuable lessons from this job. I took classes on animal behavior. I learned a tremendous amount about stress relief through enrichment. I was introduced to TNR and other wonderful programs.
Within a few months, I was promoted to Animal Care Lead, and a few months after that was promoted to Volunteer Coordinator. I absolutely loved this job but it came with a tremendous amount of heartbreak and mental and physical exhaustion.
I had an upcoming surgery in August of 2022 that would put me out of work for two months. I took some time for myself and worked in a less stressful environment where I got to experience working with a professional dog trainer once a week. I learned some very valuable lessons about basic obedience training and looked more into the mind of a dog.
A few months before my surgery, I got even more experience by working in a vets office. I love to experience as much as I can so I can better understand our furry, domesticated friends. Here I learned even more about grooming and how to restrain animals while also preventing fear and stress. I learned tons of information about the importance of preventative care and the nutritional needs of dogs and cats.
After my surgery, I made the decision to return to pet care. I haven't regretted a second of it! I have big plans for this coming year. Please like, follow, and share my page to spread the word of my growing business.
