Shining Star Sanctuary We are a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) group, providing sanctuary to cats that cannot be R’d due to loss of home, feeder, medical, cruel humans, etc.

We have morphed into pulling cats from the urgent kill list at GCAC.

Sunday Spotlight!

Miss Patti was rescued off the streets by a wonderful lady Marie carvajal who found her at a gas station late one night. She reached out for help, and we teamed up to get Miss Patti the dental she truly needed. This old lady barely had a tooth left in her mouth. 😩

Now that she is all healed up, it’s time for her to find her retirement home. She would prefer a quiet place, where she can relax on the nearest pile of shoes. (She loves shoes 🤷🏻‍♀️).

Sunday Spotlight!

Simone is still looking for her forever home! She has been blossoming thanks to her wonderful foster mom. She went from a scared timid shelter cat, having had babies while just a baby herself, now a loving playing house cat!

Meet Stink Bug (male,left), Stitch (male,center), and Sweet Pea (right,female)! These three love to play and cuddle! They are purrrrr machines! Their foster mom is absolutely in love with them.

It’s $5 Friday! Our account is looking really sad right now after getting supplies for our new rescue building. The first of the year is coming soon and that means getting vaccine boosters for a good majority of the crew. Can you help us get our accounts ready for this please??

We could also use some love to our towel and blanket supply. We also use fitted and flat sheets. These don’t have to be new!

We really appreciate our rescue community and the support you provide to help us save homeless cats in need. We can’t wait for the building to be done so that people can start coming over to visit/volunteer giving pets to the kitties!

Due to the amount of cats we have saved this year, it was time for a much needed expansion!

Despite donations being almost non-existent right now, despite pledges on our last 6 pulls from the e-list being 75~90% unfulfilled, the best thing for our future as a sanctuary was to purchase this bad boy yesterday! I will go get a second job if that is what it takes for us all to be happy and comfortable!

This with an attached 10x20 catio space will make for a wonderful area for some of our current kitties to spread out and enjoy some more individualized space. Then we will have more space in the main house for the medical cases we have been taking on and I can have my office back!

What you see is just the start, we have some work to do before it is ready for cats! We would love any monetary donations toward insulated board, wall paneling, etc. We also need to fill it with cat-approved supplies! Cat beds, scratchers, wall climbers, toys, anything you think a cat may love! You can send any item to our Amazon wishlist!

****We are hoping to make this such a wonderful place, that we can live-stream the kitties so you can enjoy them with us! 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

My favorite part is that 6 foot long transom window across the back! 🩷🩷🩷 I have a loft bed I am hoping will fit just under that for kitties to loaf and look out!!

Happy Sanctuary Saturday friends! We have been quiet this week because I (Star) have been really sick, but cat daddy Bryan had been picking up the slack so that the show still goes on.

We were able to rescue Myra and Samuri, two medical cases, from GCAC. Our boy Big Dipper had his dental. We got to know Peary (and his expensive food 😫) and his friend Red. We also saved a little family from a really bad situation, so we welcomed mama Queenie, and her tiny babies Dot and Atta (pictured below!)

Rescue goes on despite my sickness, even when we are tired, even when we get down to the bottom of my pocketbook. That is why we need support from people like you to help us save more cat lives! You are instrumental in helping us provide care to the cats that we rescue from the euthanasia list, from the streets, and from starvation.

Urgent and dire need for foster for two adult cats anywhere from Greer to Honea Path. They would need to be quarantined to an area by themselves for two weeks as I cannot vouch for their health prior to us receiving them. We can only pull them from this horrible situation with a confirmed foster. They can be split up so if we have two fosters that can each take one that works also.

Please, a spare bathroom, closet big enough for a cat and a litter box.

These cats are currently being starved.

We will provide all supplies.

Edit: he is all done!! Great news.. they don’t actually think he has stomatitis so they did not do a full mouth extraction. They only removed his back teeth which were diseased and had exposed nerves.

This is wonderful news for our boy! A big shout out to Cheyenne for being such a wonderful foster mom and to Sandy Springs vet Dr. Bob for doing an awesome job yet again!

If everyone could say a quick prayer for our boy Big Dipper as he heads into his full mouth extraction in just a few minutes. We pray he makes it through without issues and that this helps to relieve the mouth pain and trouble eating he has been having. We love you Dipper!!

For Wishlist Wednesday, we have updated a few items as most wanted. Dry kitten food and paper towels are running very low. We also have a new kitty in a special urinary diet so his food is on there now also. There are items such as small toys as low as $1 that the kitties would ❤️ love! Every gift we receive is so meaningful to us as a small rescue.

Even if it’s not on the list, if you think our kitties would love it, please send it! I love getting the surprises as we get no notification something is coming if it is off-list.

I know I am late in the day, but it’s for a good reason!

We were able to rescue Peary and Red from the shelter today. Peary was on the euthanasia list and is bonded with Red, so we couldn’t leave her behind! Cat daddy Bryan drove up there while I worked today to bring them back to the sanctuary.

So better late than never! It is still Giving Tuesday for a few more hours!! … And if you happen to see this post on Wednesday instead, consider a wishlist Wednesday donation!

We cannot make this happen without the wonderful support of our community and animal lovers all over. Whether it’s $5, $10, or a bag of food, every donation is SO BIG to us and make it possible for us to save more cat lives!

Peary comes to us with asthma AND on a special urinary diet, and the food is so expensive 😫 but we were not going to let that stop us from saving him! I have faith in the people that help us make this crazy rescue world go ‘round!

Meet Simone! She also was set to cross the bridge this evening if it were not for a wonderful foster Emily Baig stepping up to help us spare her life! She came in to the shelter just 19 days ago with her tiny babies (zoom the pic, under her belly🥹) as one of 36 owner-surrendered cats. Her death date was simply due to space. Meet Celeste! She was dropped off at the shelter as a stray on 9/5. Today, just 18 days after arrival, they scheduled her execution since no one wanted to adopt her. She is safe with us now! She is a lovable girl who is a purrrrrrr machine while you give her head pets. 🐈🥹 Celeste is available for adoption! Please message us for more information!
