Alumni Update on Maisie!

Yes! Maisie enjoys snow❄️❄️ She moved to the mainland and it was her first time to see and play in the snow😎👍 As you can see in the video and pictures, she LOVES it!!!! We're sooo happy she's enjoying her new life there! Before Maisie and her sister, Maude were rescued, their rescuer said it took for weeks to gain their trust as they didn't trust humans. They were dumped and living in the streets. And look at her! Today, she is so loved and cared! and she was adopted by this wonderful family in 2022! Thank you for giving her unconditional love ❤️❤️❤️ We love hearing from our adopters! Thank you for giving us updates😍😍😍 A video is in the comments.

Teddy was found wandering the streets and was brought to Aloha Animal Outreach . He was microchipped and the owners were contacted. We were informed that he was lost a long time ago and they did not look for him. So, it wasn't a surprise that they did not want him back. Teddy is blind but is very intelligent and learns from other dogs. He is a gentle and sweet boy. If you're interested in him, please message us! Thank you!

We have great news!

Noel was discharged last night and back to her foster home😍😍 We're informed by an emergency vet when she was hospitalized that 1/3 of dogs with this condition, the Immune system malfunction, don't survive. So we're extremely worried about her, but she made it!! She's a strong senior lady!! She had 0 platelets and was positive for ehrlichia. She was very anemic and couldn't even check her blood pressure. So, she had blood transfusion couple times. She threw up lots of blood and found out she was bleeding in her stomach and vet also found large blood clots in her uterine. We are so grateful to have supporters like you all!!! Thank you so much for your support, prayers and donations 🙏🙏 Thank you to all she is alive!!! She can finally enjoy her golden years!! She was with an abusive houseless owner until he was arrested. We still need your help for her bill. If you could help us, we very appreciate 💕

The proverb "Do as I say, not as I do" has been forever changed by our Hope For Dogs Rescue's founder to "Do as I say AND do as I do." Her belief in creating this organization to reduce the number of euthanasia on Oahu, and her actions, continue to fuel HFDR's mission. She had fostered and now has officially adopted Kawaii nka Mochiko (front & center) and adds her to her HFDR alumni pack of Jake (top left), Waffles (second right) and Baileigh (adopted from another shelter prior to the creation of HFDR). Mochiko was transferred to us from the Hawaiian Humane Society because of her age. But she has proven to be young at heart as she can carry her own with her older siblings. We wish you a lifetime of happiness and love with this special family. We cannot be prouder to be a part of this rescue organization.

We had a successful adoption/fundraiser event yesterday at PetVet Animal Hospital ! Thank you to everyone who came to meet our adoptable dogs and to donate for Noel!! Thank you, PetVet Animal Hospital and all of our volunteers for your huge support! Bambi had a wellness check during the event at PetVet! She did well and waiting for her blood work results! Foster from Fur-Angel Foundation brought their dog to our event! We had a great time!

We are still in need of your financial support for Noel. We've been updating on her in her previous post. Noel's doing better, but it's still bleeding in her stomach. She's getting another transfusion this afternoon. Please please pray for her. We can't give up on her. She's finally rescued from an abusive houseless owner as he's arrested. We want her to go to a best forever home to spend her golden years🙏🙏

Update 2: Noel is doing ok and eating ok, however it's still bleeding in the stomach. She only had one black bad diarrhea today which is better than yesterday. She's getting next transfusion this morning. The major concern is to start bleeding in the brain, lungs or any spots that vet cannot do anything. Please continue praying for her. Thank you so much for everyone who has donated 🙏🙏🙏 Will keep you updated.

Update 1: Noel feels better after her second unit of blood. She looks a lot brighter and is able to stand up on her own and has a normal blood pressure now. She's having a lot of diarrhea so vet has put her on a high rate of fluids to help keep her hydrated. Ultrasound indicated this bleeding was not caused because of cancer or a tumor, but vet is still not sure what is going on. She started getting treated for ehrlichia. Vet is still carefully monitoring her overnight as this doesn't mean the bleeding has stopped. Will keep you updated. Thank you so much for your support 🙏🙏🙏

This morning, Noel threw up lots of blood. She's currently at VCA Family and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center . She's getting a blood transfusion and will be hospitalized. She's bleeding in the stomach and going into the intestine tract. She started having bloody, black-red, diarrhea, too. Vet is trying her best to stable her at this point while she's getting a transfusion. Blood work, X-rays, ultrasound are done. Please please pray for her🙏🙏🙏 We also need your financial support. If you can donate even $1, 3, 5 for her, please help. We will fundraise for her tomorrow at our adoption event. Please help!!! She's finally rescued from an abusive houseless owner as he's arrested. We want her to spend her golden years at her forever home. Please help her!!! We will keep you updated.

🎁 All the funds that are raised will be used for our dogs. We focus on intaking strays, seniors and the ones that are hard to adopt out. Many of our dogs stay under our care for months, even years. We provide food/(prescription diet), treats, p**p bags, p*e pads/(diapers), monthly preventives, vaccines/(updates every 6 months to 1 year), meds, spay/neuter, microchip, and emergency visit/surgery if any. Adoption fees cover very little.

That's why we need your help. We don't receive any financial help from the city or state. In addition, we are a 100% volunteer-based organization!

We are thrilled to announce our first adoption for 2025 is Morgan nka Peanut. And also thrilled that the family who made it official is none other than our angels with the golden wings who had previously adopted five alumni of HFDR. Peanut makes it 6! Peanut was wandering the streets after his former owner passed two years ago. He was emaciated and had a little hiccup in his gait. Our angels stepped in and agreed to foster this little sweetheart. Peanut’s now forever mom said she knew almost immediately that he would become a part of their pack and today it happened. To our angels and all of our adopters and fosters, a heartfelt mahalo for making a difference in a fur baby’s life. We could not survive without you.

Ruffy only has less than 2 weeks to find a foster or foster to adopt. He's a 6-7 years old Chihuahua boy. We're informed he's about 7lbs. He hasn't been around dogs, but has lived with a cat before. Noel was in an abusive situation with a houseless person her entire life. She was surrendered to Aloha Animal Outreach, then she came to us. Despite her horrible past life, Noel is a sweet, friendly and affectionate gal. She would do best in a quiet environment with a family who could give her all the TLC her little heart desires and deserves. We are unsure if she is spayed or not so we would have to wait for a bit. Gus said Happy Holidays🎁❤️ Gus is patiently waiting for his forever home! He's initially rescued by his foster mom and her friend as he was tied outside all day for an unknown period of time. He spent his days in this unhealthy environment until rescued. Gus was adopted last year but due to unforeseen circumstances, he is back with us. He is friendly, active and playful, but he needs time to get used to be with energetic dogs. He is ok with calmer dogs. He is fine with children but because of his size, he may knock down the little ones. He needs an active family who could give him the activity he needs to thrive. He's 2 years old, pitbull, 50lbs boy.

🎄Merry Christmas 🎁 from our alumni Mick Jagger 😍😍😍 We are sure most people remember Jagger (fka Hope) and we know many of you wonder how he is doing! He was adopted last year by a wonderful mom. He is soooooo loved by her mom and his siblings. As you can see, he is doing fantastic👍💕He's found on the street and we found out he had a huge hole in his mouth. He needed to have a very difficult surgery to cover it. A dentist successfully fixed and covered with the tissues. We appreciate YOUR support and his foster mom who cared for him 24/7 after the surgery. He's living the best life with his perfect forever family that he really deserves🙏🙏🙏Thank you, everyone who supported him in any way and thank you to his forever family who is giving him the best life😍😍😍 Have a safe wonderful Christmas 🎁🎄

Our alumni Shug and Coco Puff said Happy Holidays🐾❤️

They were both adopted last year by a wonderful mom😍 Shug (fka Sugar) was in a very bad shape and infested with fleas and ticks when he's rescued. Also, he had lots of hair loss and later found out by his adoptive mom he had thyroid issue which was treated! Today, he has lots of fur😍 Coco Puff (fka Coco) was transferred from HHS and she barely walked and extremely weak when she came to us. Today, they both look beautiful thanks to their mom who cared for them so hard! Thank you for giving them unconditional love and best forever home they truly deserve🙏🙏We love hearing from our adopters🐾💕

Sweet Ellie dozing off 😍😍😍

Abby is patiently waiting for her forever home. She's been with us over 600 days. She's transferred from HHS as she's terrified at the shelter environment. She's still skittish at first, but warms up very quickly. She's great with other dogs. As she's an energetic dog, we're looking for an active family that has energetic/playful dogs. She's potty trained and crate trained. She's 2 year old, corgi mix, 18lbs girl. If you're interested in Abby, please fill out an application at hopefordogsrescue.com/Adopt . Where is Wilson's forever family?! He's been with us 930 days (over 2 years). He's patiently waiting for his forever home🙏🙏🙏 He came to us because his previous owner was about to euthanize him as he's diagnosed with IVDD and couldn't use his back legs. We decided to take him in to give him a 2nd chance. He didn't have a surgery, but our medical foster did rehab and he can run today! Also, His personality has changed a lot. He's such a happy dog! He is 20lbs, min pin mix, 5-6 years old boy. He is an independent guy, but also loves getting affection. He is good with other dogs, but doesn't do well with puppies and high energy dogs. He has lived with a cat, ok with older children who can follow rules. He LOVES going for walks and is very food motivated! He listens well, has a strong recall and understands house rules. He needs a house with a fenced in yard without stairs and needs a family who is patient and willing to help him bond with his forever family as he may need to take some time to adjust in a new environment. Noa was adopted in January of this year. We heard she's enjoying her new life! We're so happy to see her in the video😍😍 She's very skittish at the Hawaiian Humane Society, so she's transferred to us. Noa's 2nd foster took her to a party where Noa met her now forever family which includes besides her mom & dad, sister and significant other, canine cousin, feline siblings and human little ones. It was love at first sight. We're very happy she found the best forever home where she won't be left behind. We know she's well cared and loved unconditionally❤️ Thank you for giving her wonderful life she truly deserves🙏🙏🙏 We're always grateful to hear from our alumni 😊😊
