I am really liking this young bull he is a son of Enhance out of a RDDA overload daughter. When I can take a yearling bull and use him on a set of heifers pull him and put him out on grass and he conditions back up good enough to use on some heifers this fall I think he is doing what I need him to and never mind that he’s as easy to handle as he can be

The end of may and the beginning of June get pretty busy cutting branding and haying not to mention trying to get irrigation going keeps us busy. And the newest family member seems cut out for ranch life.

These fall calves are the first ones out of our newest herd bull (he is a Southern Charm out of a Black Granite daughter) so far I really like them . the steers will make great grass calves here in a short time and the heifers should make excellent commercial cows . They have grown very well considering the weather we’ve had and they are just nice calm cattle to boot

We started getting nervous when the weather started getting better the snow went away and the mud started to dry up I was afraid of how terrible the calving season would be in nice weather fortunately for us mother nature decided to drop another 6 inches of snow the day of our first calf so she will get to spend a few days in the barn with her mother she is the first Enhance daughter we have had and her mother is a Hoover Dam daughter so we we think she might make a pretty good cow

Finished calving a small group of fall calves out of a new bull that I bred and raised . I am really impressed with the thickness and overall quality of the calves it’s ashame that they are fall calves 3 of them would make pretty good show steers but they’ll make a nice set of grass calves come spring
