Ghost makes beautiful, durable, easy-care pads that perform beautifully under your treeless saddles.

Each pad is custom made, and you can choose your colors and materials for the topside, as well as choose from Medicinal sheepskin, Vella (Synthetic medicinal sheepskin), Wool felt, wool, or sympanova undersides. All include 1 or 2 cm full-length composite foam inserts. all pads are shimable (shims not included).

Shape and size can also be customized for a small extra charge.

How can a flocking adjustment help your saddle fit your horse correctly? Isn't it cheating? The tree has to fit the horse, so if we rearrange flocking, aren't we just hiding a problem?

This is an example of how adjusting flocking can fine-tune the fit. This is a used endurance saddle purchased for a Morgan who measures a true Medium. The saddle is a Medium. Comparing the tracings-set to the saddle showed that the tree is shaped properly for this horse. Yet it did not fit.

1: It was tight at the shoulder and sitting way too high at the pommel. The panels had been overflocked at the front making the shape of the panels a Narrow or Medium/Narrow.

2: The offside panel had about 30% more flocking in it, making it more plump than the nearside panel, causing the saddle to sit crooked on the horse.

I removed the excess flocking from the front, allowing the panels to follow the shape of the tree-points as well as the horse's scapula and trapezius. I then overflocked the nearside panel to be symmetric with the offside panel.

Not cheating, just fine-tuning a saddle where the tree fits.

When you order an EDIX item from me that I don't have in stock in my shop here in WA State, I order it from our warehouse in Netherlands. I always ask that you be patient as my shipping crates fill up with additional orders. My crates can weigh max 20 kgs for international shipping, and filling them to the max saves on shipping costs to help me keep my prices as low as possible.

I thought I'd share with you what that looks like :-) , because the warehouse crew at EDIX does such a phenomenal job of packing these crates with the precision of Scandinavian architects.

I just received today's crate. 19.5 kgs! Way to go, whoot! (maybe they could have filled the last 500 g with Dutch chocolate - just a thought)

Box opened, and there's just a hair's left of space in there. Maxed out the space as well as the weight. I have another crate arriving tomorrow. So the warehouse crew has optimized what goes in which box to max out the weight but also to fit pieces of different sizes all into the allowed space in each box. It's 3D Tetris - Game on....

And the glorious unpacking! What can we fit into a single ~20kg crate?

OK all my endurance-groupies who have discovered my awesome 3-mesh pad inserts...Drumroll. EDIX now also carries it in 1cm thickness - perfect for layering inside a dense sheepskin pad or pairing with a thin layer of wool felt. I have all 3 thicknesses: 5.5mm, 10mm, and 20mm

He has never knocked tools off my workbenches and his gentle paws have never touched a claw to a saddle. I have never had a mouse in my shop. He understands his assignment.

One of my favorite things about being able to sell EDIX's impressive line of tack is their great selection of children's saddles.

Most children's saddles don't place the young rider in a proper balanced equitation position, making it difficult for them to develop a solid seat. Most children's saddles aren't made to fit a horse very well - they tend to be "one size fits all", meaning they rarely fit any horse quite right.

When my daughters learned to ride, I was able to find them an ancient, worn-to-the-bone Stubben Rex (a Classic!) that I patched up to make it safe, at least. Those haven't been made for decades, and there's not much out there to fill that void.

The EDIX children's saddles are available in seat sizes 14" and 15" (and 16" and up in the adult range). They are made with the same materials and designs as the adult saddles, with flocked panels, premium leather, adjustable gullet-plates, and EDIX's wonderful Soft-Tree (reinforced leather-tree). The Soft-Tree will flex and move with your horse, and gradually shape to your horse, yet is classified as a treed saddle, so is allowed in all show and competitive classes, even those that prohibit treeless saddles.

This 16" Emir A/P saddle arrived today. I adjusted the flocking and gullet-plate to fit a young rider's stunning mare, and it is heading straight out to a growing young rider just in time for the season's Hunt-seat shows.

Please excuse the non-glam utilitarian photo. On nice days, I set up my workbench out on my deck to take advantage of daylight, so this photo is taken in my "outdoor workshop", which I love so much (I used to work in a cleanroom and cubicle in the semi-conductor industry. I still get really excited when I realize that this is my job now . )
